I wouldn't call that a collapse. The market is very soft for these cars. There also seems to be more inventory than demand.

I heard that's where wholesale prices were, but didn't know that was retail now.

I think it's just a good price on that car (as I commented in the ad!)

Also, if lightly optioned (as I would order a Scud) it would make an almost $40K swing in the original MSRP.

Who needs a bunch of carbon trim???

I really like the colors on that car..

Selling ANYTHING as the Market takes 500 points down every day will be challenging.
We have a lot more of those days, to come.

There's plenty of sellers of these cars right now, dealerships too.

Having recently bought a Scud, I think lack of racing stripe is a negative as is the yellow color. Beautiful car and lowest price I've seen but that would be my guess as to why the price. Ferrari of San Diego also had a yellow 08 advertised for $175,000 ish. Also, coming to the end of summer as well - hard to drive one of these cars in a local with snow. No question that these will continue to fall in value in my mind.

Seems like a nice car at a decent price. Fly Scuds look good without the twin stripes, IMO. Good luck with the sale.

it seem so crazy with the scud market right now.
for merely 20-30K more, one can upgrade to a Scud from a "regular" 430.
I'm surprise that there's not more demand.

    Mileage.

To me, that's a really fine car. Someone should pick it up.

I think the market has seen through the Ferrari marketing with the Scud. It's a great car, but it is basically a gen 2 430. It is not a special edition or a limited production car. This is why the market is pricing the car as it does.

I find I am in special company when someone says "...a rippin deal." about paying $170K for a used car. This is not a comment directed toward value, just the magnitude of a rippin deal.

I find the best way to learn how connected someone is to financial scale (aka reality) is to ask them how much a gallon of milk cost. Try it, the results are quite entertaining.

I don't believe that yellow has any negative impact on the price. The cheaper (under $130k) F430s are mostly red.

Does anybody know how many scuds were finally produced? I searched the forum and found nothing definite. Numbers range from 1200 - 3500.

Have been reliably told under 2000 but have also seen figures as high as 3000 - but who knows exactly.

In the UK we have 165 Scud confirmed registrations from DVLA (government). This compares to 119 CS's and 53 16M's. UK is usually about 10% of World registrations for any given F car model (give or take) which holds roughly true for CS at World total of 1288 (I believe) and total of 499 16M's. This would put total Scud figure at 1650 approx using 10% rule, I believe it is more from what I have been told and some will say it is a lot more.
If it is a lot more then where did they all go and why did it not obey the 10% rule?

There are some Scuderias on Manheim for $180-$185k now, and you've gotta figure there is a ~$10k profit in there for the dealers still. Not seen anything under $180k in Manheim. Getting pretty close to CS prices, which are going up rather than down.

A Scuderia is definately going to be an absolutely fantastic buy in another year or two when the depreciation curve flattens :).

The Scuderia in question is my car. It's a really nice example. Very fast. No paintwork, no accidents. It does not have the U.S. Carbon Package and that decreases the asking price a bit.

I ordered this car new from Lake Forest Sports Cars, and it was serviced since new by Lake Forest Sports Cars. I traded the car in 2009 when I got my 16M and then purchased it back.

Here is the article done on the car last month.....

    http://www.roadandtrack.com/auto-shows/road-track-concours-d-elegance/2009-ferrari-430-scuderia

I priced it at what I thought was market, but maybe I should raise the price, and then the OP and others here would feel better?! :)

Is the US Carbon package the front and rear diffusor? Looks to have the other carbon items?

Other items, sills and mirrors, little under $20,000 for OEM installed by dealership. Crazy.
