Beautiful photo, and it would make a fine cover, but I would still cast my vote in favor of the first image.
Very nice! can't wait untill published. However publisher shows date "may 2012"?? JOEEEE!! How much longer do we have to wait?? It's painfull...
I've been out of the loop for a bit, is this 288 in Utah known? http://www.mfemotors.com/vehicle_pages/1285092447-2009-Nissan-GT-R.shtml (Look in the back of the photo of the GTR)
That's what the publishers website said too untill recently. Now this website shows a delay to May 2012... Hopefully Joe's right and we can read the book end of this year , look forward to it! btw ; The long awaited Dino-book (Brian Long) by the same publisher has been delayed for ages Now showing "October 2012"...
The (GTO) wheels of progress turn slowly. Essentially, I will be finished this year, but clearly the publisher wants time to put out a quality product so May 2012 it is then.
Finished this yesterday... GTO under the Palms 10X14 Watercolour & ink on paper GT Image Unavailable, Please Login

Anyone here check out the 288 buyers guide in this months Hemmings News?? I saw the copley 288, looks pretty good. Not as mint as Cosbys or Shermans car in NH.. no idea if those 288s got resold
Cosby's car stands alone in the mint-ness department, and that's to be expected, one-owner from new, less than 500 miles. Cohen still owns his. The Copley car has some bodywork mods as it relates to the bumpers. I was interviewed for the Hemmings cover article. I dont have the full link but its the August 2011 issue. That's the beauty of the 288 GTO. You can give F40s, 575s, F50s, Enzos, etc. a run for their money on the track and drive home in 109 degree heat in stop and go traffic and it doesn't care. My car has been there and done it.
Thats almost a great story Steve since your reliable daily drives pretty much burned to the ground after you were thrashing it. I remember it sitting in the psychos shop awaiting a potential lawsuit and the results from "failure anaylsis". The overheating was cured with an F40 waterpump that you never paid me for even though I overnighted the pump to help you out. You must have a short memory. Oh and the psycho goes by the name of "335's". That car has had a lot more work than you seem to remember. Just pay me for the pump and I won't interfer with your fairy tales.
Look, its really simple. Your "mechanic", "craig", "335'5", called me with a sob story that you were in desperate need of a new F40 waterpump to cure your overheating problems. You needed to get the car going quickly and there were no pumps available at the time. I had a stock of pumps that I had purchased from Rutlands and was willing to supply one that I delivered overnight. That was 8 years ago! I never got paid for the part and "335's" claimed that he had a check on his desk from you. The last time I went to collect the check he had a seizure and was unable to talk. What happened to the check? I dont think that I need to be supplying free parts to affluent Ferrari owners. My pump is in your car and I havent been paid. You say that your car is trouble free but I saw it after the fire. From what I remember the entire car was repainted and the extensive fire damage reparied. I even have pictures. The apparent overheating was cured with my pump. Please pay up. Its really just the principle anymore. I would also accept a new OEM pump. Happy motoring !
