No Sir,....not bad at all! I guess having Borrani wire wheels makes a big difference in pricing!

I think the 5000 GT was with Tom Shaughnessy for a while and at Fantasy Juncition in CA.

    Thanks Walter!

That red GTI at Bonhams sure had some non-matching parking lights. More-so than just a hand built issue I'd say. I actually did not have much time to inspect any of the Bonhams cars, but the white 3500 at Gooding sure seems like a great car.

Redfred, the Goodings 3500GT was the ex-John Ratto car who restored it to a very high standard in the late 80's. It has held up very well and I last saw it at Concorso Italiano in 2007. It is white with red interior and a hub cap car. Here are some photos from 2007.

Larry, I think you are thinking of a different car. The 3500 GT at Goodings was Dian Murray's. She purchased it from her Grandfather Stan Baker. AM 101.930. The Baker family owned this car for many years and a Vignale Spyder as well. The last time I saw the car was in 2009 at the Seattle Italian Concourso.

The ex Ratto car is very nice! I really like the red interior and carpet combo.

    Ciao and best!

Well, according to my notes, #930 was the ex-John Ratto-car:

    AM101.930
    1960, white/black,
May 1960 new to Enrico Bernabei -Milano/I
    19??-79 in Italy
    Nov.1979-86 with John Ratto -Moss Beach.CA./USA, restored, re-painted white/black (s. photo), offered for sale in `84, asking $20.000 featured in VCM 9/10 1982 p.14
    1988 with Stan Baker -Seattle.WA./USA,

Larry - perhaps you are wrong?

    Ciao!

I have a 1963 Maserati Sebring with Borranis. I have been told that Borranis was an option and most of the Sebrings wasn´t delivered with Borranis. - I know from the factory order specification that my car was delivered with Borranis. I therefore have some questions for you!

    1. Do you guys have any ideas of what extra value Borranis gives the car?

    2. Will it only make a really premium to the price if the car was factory delivered with the Borranis?

    3. Is it true that factory ordered Borranis for the Sebring series 1 is more rare than the "standard" wheels?

    4. And a little bit off topic: According to some price guides I have seen then the "normal" 3500 GT/GTI is more valuable than the Sebring (series 1). Is that true?

I am sorry if you think I am hijacking this thread but my questions is related to the quoted text in the top! :)

    Thank you!

The Gooding 3500 was sold by a gal, who acquired it from her grandfather, but I believe it was restored by someone well known before the grandfather got it (and never used it). The red interior with the AC that Larry pictures is from the gray/blue car next to the white one in his photos, that of Alex Von Wolfe 1596.

I believe this is the car you are speaking of... Ms. Murray brought it out to several of our Italian Concours events. Here it is when she displayed it at the 2008 Italian Concours in Seattle. A very lovely car and quite the history. She took 2nd place that year, behind a lovely 1972 Ghibli SS.
