The Reef. I liked it.Mostly because i love GWS. Similar style to Open Waters 1/2. Based on true events.
I watched this movie I got on Itunes called "3 idiots". I had no idea what it was about but they recommended it and I needed something to watch on the plane. Now, it's not for everyone but it is a pretty good movie. I don't like Bollywood movies and this is one. But, it's well written with interesting characters. Yes, there are 3 typical Bollywood corny musical numbers but the music isn't half bad. It has some really unusual and clever twists in the story that surprised me. It's the story of 3 guys who enter as freshmen in an Engineering college in India run by a mean "old school" professor. Some of the subjects are pretty dark like suicide but it's actually a pretty funny movie and easy to relate to if you ever went through that "why the hell am I going to college" phase. It's subtitled but interestingly, about 1/3 of the words in every sentence are english.
It's my day off, so after all the house cleaning, I've been sitting on my ass doing absolutely nothing. And it's amazing. Just finished 'Eyes Wide Shut.' Haven't seen the movie in years, and loved it just as much as I remembered. Very trippy, well imagined film...
One of my favorite Hindi movies ever and I've seen tons. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=140163819&postcount=1380 I just watched Stranger Than Fiction, great movie, I don't know why I've never finished it.
I enjoyed it a lot and got my head around the story up to the last 5 minutes. Then it all kinda collapsed but I didn't bother to put the pieces together at that point. It was fun enough until then.
Just got home from "Crazy, Stupid Love". Wasn't hot to see it - sounded too chick-flicky to me. But it's frickin HILARIOUS! And quite complicated with an over-the-top crazy ending that ties everything together. Some parts are pee-pants funny. Great acting by everyone with a lot of eye candy for both the boys and the girls. Don't let the "romantic comedy" tagline and Steve Carell turn you off... totally well worth seeing. I fully agree with IMDB reviews on this one - 8 solid stars all the way. Jedi
Cowboys and aliens. Somewhat average. Olivia Wilde really looked freaky with her squarish face. Very nice eyes though.
I saw the "Senna" movie this weekend. It's a great documentary of Senna's life in F1 that any auto racing enthusiasts should see. Excellent unseen footage and inside on the driver dynamics at the time in McLaren.
Watched Limitless What a great movie. I enjoyed every minute of it, great script, actors and filmography.
Just saw "The Big Lift" (1950) on TCM (Montgomery Clift day). A drama about pilots during the Berlin airlift, shot on location in Berlin just after the airlift (and shortly after WWII, so it shows the devastation). But it also has humor and some pretty impressive cinemagraphic imagery, for a film made before CGI. A forgotten gem.
Senna It blew me away. Which was to be expected. Surprisingly it also fascinated the entire audience in the theatre, not all of which looked like they were F1 or Senna fans. Simply a MUST SEE movie for any F1 fan. No ifs and buts, just go see it.
Really? Seen it twice myself at couldn't stand it. Seems like the writer watched HEAT one night then typed up the script for The Town an hour later. I thought it was terrible in every way, realism, plot, charactors and charactor development, action, you name it. If you haven't seen HEAT, please go watch it immediatly.
Seen Heat several times, agreed that it is better but thought the Town as good and worth a re-watch if nothing else on.
The Conspirator. Overall this has all the makings of an Oscar nominee. Well-known actors playing against type, a dramatic historical story, and a relatively complex and engaging plot. Meh. Overall it felt more like I was watching a History Channel special than a feature motion picture. Fairly slow, with stiff acting in many places. Robin Wright looks constipated and does not want to be there for example. At the end of the day, was she guilty? Did she deserve her punishment? At this point, nearly 150 years later, it is somewhat moot. She was certainly guilty of another conspiracy against Lincoln, and protected her more-than-likely-guilty-as-hell son. She may have been just in the wrong place at the wrong time, but more than likely knew more than she claimed and was complicit in the assassination. Overall 5/10. Easy to forget.
Limitless - what a fantastic movie! The filming/direction was supurb. The writing excellent. The acting first rate w/ one exception - I didn't think the role was right for DiNiro....he was, average. I could see Liam Niason as a better cast for that part. Takers - starring Matt Dillon - action throughout, very good bank robbery movie. If you liked Town, Heat - you'll dig this one too.
I have been watching "A 1000 ways to die" as it seems to be always on at the Gym and holy sh*t, some people really arent lucky at all.
