Now this made me almost spit all over my monitor! LMAO. Man this is a great idea. That is such a beautiful, awesome sounding car.
It's because of actions like this that it confuses me as to why any Ferrari fan holds a grudge against Schu. Ferrari has never held a grudge and they will probably name a street after him. Why harbor hatred and bad will? It makes no sense.
Nice comments about him. I would very much like to see Michael Schumacher back in a Ferrari again... although I admit it'll probably never happen. All the best, Andrew.
There's something which I can't seems to get it though. When Ferrari released the news that Schumacher will be racing under them again, it seems that the plan failed because of his neck injury. But why didn't Ferrari try to sign him again when Merc sign him? Is it because of their existing contract with the current drivers?
Correct regarding the contracts. Medically speaking, we will never know the absolute truth regarding Michael's neck and evidently his reasons were his own regarding why he would not race. He did lose weight, worked out, drove a couple cars and then ultimately decided not to proceed for whatever reason. It's not like the season was lost so who cares really. What's sad is some are holding that against Michael like he is some sort of trator. Ferrari doesn't, so it nothing short of odd holding a grudge for that reason. Brawn went to Schu as a friend asking him to step into Button's place as Button essentially broad-sided Brawn by making a visit to Mclaren and then going to Mclaren. Schu and Brawn talked about the team needing to be built and Schu came on board to help. The team was gutted from what it used to be at the end of '09 and then rebuilt and is still being rebuilt. Bell is running the technical show with next year's car and Prodromou (Red Bull's top guy) is coming on board later in the year to help as well. Now we are hearing Costa is coming too. Schu made the right choice to race again because he could not for Ferrari, and MB will be a major force in a couple years. This does nothing but good for the sport because that means there will most likely be 4 major championship contending teams rather than 2 or 3.
Michael was no traitor. Ferrari was blessed to have him in his prime. There will never be another like him and I think few drivers will ever have a greater impact on a team as he did. They both owe each other so much they can never repay it. For me, when he drives, he's always wearing red. Maybe under that suit he has now he wears red nomex! Long live the Shue!
To be honest, there are still people who associate Ferrari with Michael Schumacher. No joke. It's not because they are not aware that MS is consider history with Ferrari. It's just a mind-set. Even for me. I don't know about you guys, but people just DON'T think when they said MS is a traitor. They just DON'T THINK! I'm looking forward to see how he performs with the 2012 car. Who knows. Maybe the gold plated helmet brings 'lady luck' to him in the future races? I mean, I'm not exactly sure what is causing him not winning races. No one would know really. But if I have to guess, it would be his inconsistency performance and the car? Speaking of car, RB currently has the best car around (out of question). But is there really a big difference between MERC, Ferrari and McLaren car? Just a random question.
Probably. Mclaren are, safe to say, the 2nd best team now. Ferrari seems to be fast at start of the races, then just fade off. Merc is still crap.
Ferrari's big issue is not working well with the tires, that's why the 150th Italia fades when not on soft tires. Though now that Ferrari is concentrating on the 2012 car we might see some interesting prototype parts. It really wouldn't hurt much if they failed... MB definitely is still way off, there was a 30 second gap between Alonso and Schumi at the end of Spa. I think that's about where they are at
Without straying too off-topic here, the Ferrari is perfectly capable of winning races -only they need to be on soft or super soft tires. The F150's suspension geometry and weight distribution at the back end is all wrong for the medium or hard tires. Mclaren has equivalent and at times slightly better race pace than Red Bull. The data is very clear on this. Red Bull only has the advantage in qualifying and one other important area. RB7 deficits the Mclaren in mechanical grip and top end while Mclaren deficits RB (very slightly now) in the high speed corners. The track in question is more the determining issue which is certainly making the second half of this season more interesting than the first half. They are otherwise dead even. If the season were to start again tomorrow, it would be very difficult for me or anyone to call the WDC or WCC. The MB is a good car for what it is, but definitely off championship pace by a solid second at most tracks. The car has fundamental issues which essentially kills any further progress. Namely, the double radiators, high fuel tank, and short wheel base cause the CoG to be far too high causing the car to behave very differently with full fuel which is why MB essentially decides each race whether to setup for race pace or qualy pace, but never both. W03 will probably be an evolution and the great Bob Bell has his hands deeply into that project, and I am quite sure for some time now. I'm not expecting awesome MB pace until at least 2013 though.
Thanks, mate. Just what I needed. Always enjoy reading your post. Learnt a lot from it. Pardon my ignorance on MB car. Haven't been paying close attention to their history. But who build their car? Why would they make it so different? Sounds a bit crappy.
