    Hi all,
I'm new here and have started my hunt for a Dino GTS. Just wondering if there are any Canadian Dino owners here?

    Thx,
    Al

There's a bunch of us here. I'd guess there are well over 20 Dinos in Toronto alone.

    Hello Al

there are several gts's in the toronto area but no one is selling. You best look down south, the market is 10x larger. If you need a hand feel free to email me

what city are you in here?

try contacting the calgary vintage sports car club, they might know if a dino is selling locally
    http://www.vsccc.ca/

or try shir at ZR auto, he's a mostly new gen guy, but has connections, so might know of something out there for sale?

That Dino should blow the top out the market.

    Beautiful car, but a couple odd/wrong things;
    - wrong air box nuts...not knurled
    - wrong steering wheel...and note the prancing horse horn button
    - big gap in the instrument facia rubber trim piece (top center)
    - aren't the shift gate screws supposed to be philips?
    - missing vent window latches
    - that dash looks exceedingly `fury'...maybe I shouldn't be comparing to my original 71 dashboard
    - I couldn't see any evidence from the pictures of the shoulder seat belts...only lap belts
    - missing hose connection to the washer fluid bag

Overall, one gorgeous color combo with trivial issues to fix.

I've seen this Dino in person. Looks really nice and original. I've seen other late U.S. spec Dinos with only lap belts and the cove where the shoulder harness normall mounts in black vinyl rather than painted. Anyone else notice this on some late Dinos?

    Freeman,

The GTS's have the interior part of the rear butress covered in vinyl rather than painted like a GT

The GTS went to lap belts only sometime in 73, with no shoulder belt.

All minor things, but strange they haven't been addressed, but easy enough to fix for a picky owner.

There shouldn't be shoulder belts, so the car is correct. The dash is the style of Mouse Fur that was available a couple of years ago. It is nice in person but these pictures do make it look extra furry, but I am pretty certain it isn't. However, the blue-ish color in the Mouse Fur is something that looks goofy on all cars that used this product in my opinion. It wouldn't prevent me from seriously considering this car to be the one for me, nor would I go through the expense of changing it.

    Beautifull Dino in awesome condition.
Found a very interesting difference by comparison:
On the trunk picture of (#08302)you can see the discussed not flat trunk bottom of later US -GTS
vs the earlier one which all rest of the world Dinos have. As #07014 has still the flat bottom the change
must have been really on the very last few cars!

True, was irritated by the side markers.
So the chassis # gives no info about the change.
At least the picture shows the difference. And at earlier discussions
we found some US-GTS without this non flat trunk bottom.

Did Dinos sent to Canada from factory have US side marker lights? Or were Canadian cars Euro spec?

Correct. Prior to that a small number of M and L series cars were delivered to Canada and these were special in that they were 100% Euro cars with British gauge clusters. As such they had MPH speedometers and markings in English instead of Italian. Canada required no federalization regarding the marker lights.
