I am looking for recomendations for a mechanic to work on a 1970 365 GT 2+2. Need some minor break work right now but would like to identify a trusted guy who know the Enzo era 12 cylinder cars.

Apex Vintage in Raleigh,NC. Apex Vintage does a lot of older Ferrari & Maserati work plus they are very active in the vintage racing car scene.

Depending on where you are located, Karl Troy in Charleston, SC would also be another good choice.

Living in Charlotte, Automotive International does both my cars and they regularly work on one of our club member's '69 365 GT 2+2.

Depending on which area of the states you'd like to work with, Tom Jones at Sport Auto in Summerfield, NC is wonderful and I too have heard many great things about Karl Troy in Charleston, SC.

Tom Jones rebuilt my Euro 365 2+2 when I bought it and did an outstanding job. He still works for Steve Barney own owns Sport Auto in Summerfield, NC. He did the work over thirty years ago when both were the team at Foreign Cars Italia. He is presently rejuvinating my '79 308 GT4.

Automotive International in Charlotte is an excellent choice. They did an excellent job on my 1999 355 F1. Very professional and attention to detail is excellent.

At the significant risk of making it even harder to get an appointment for work on my Dino, I have to say that Tom Jones at Sport Auto in Summerfield, NC (Steve Barney's dealership) is the best mechanic I have ever had the pleasure to work with. His calm demeanor and the incredible depth and breadth of his knowledge is wondrous to behold.

He is incredibly modest, but he really knows Ferraris of all vintages inside and out. Electrical problems? I have never found a mechanic that can fix those faster than him. Mechanical? He is as thorough as they come, but he will follow your lead on what and how much you want done.

He goes the extra mile for you and the charges are very reasonable. I have always felt I got more than I paid for. How many times can you say that???

He has worked on many of my cars, including a 1978 308 GTS, 1966 330 GTC, 1974 Dino , and one of my original AC Shelby Cobras, so he even does 'merican when pushed, although he prefers not to stray into such primitive machinery :)
