Cool; let's see how much the cheap floormats are this year! Aren't they going to be billed as 2013s though?
I kinda like the new 2012 911. I think that it is a start for transforming the 911 to a new shape or car. I do like the new colors too. I cannot wait to see this car in "Lime Gold" with Tan interior with the PDK transmission. Thank you for posting the config. web site. Tom.
IMO a PDK-equipped C2S is the one to have. beyond that you're paying for power/performance you can't use on the street.
Oh ..... I totally agree. Most of my car friends think the opposite, but I say the same thing that you do. It's an ego thing, I guess ..... power Here is the link to photo of Lime Gold : http://webpages.charter.net/jwgeer709/2012_911_lime_gold.jpg Enjoy !
Pretty neat presentation here on the new model http://www.porsche.com/microsite/911/flash/default.aspx?language=en-us&market=PCNA&pool=usa&instance=787&width=1920&height=1080&deeplink=&startWithLogin=false
I have a 2011 Turbo S and as far as real world use it is far faster than any Ferrari I have owned including my old 599. The car is small and there is so much torque at low RPM you can zip through traffic effortlessly. I have a 997 GT3RS and the performance difference in real world use is night and day. The RS is a better drivers car but as far as getting to work the readily available power of the Turbo S makes is far superior.
I owned a 6-GT3, and my base 997 C2 is a faster car in real-world driving; more power, lower ride height and bigger brakes get well into diminishing returns on the street. on the track, a whole different story.
I am not going to try to change anyone's opinion. If you think a 997 C2 is a better daily driver than a Turbo then more power (...I mean less power but more money saved) to you. I had a 997 C4 Cab a few years ago and it was a great car but I believe that the Turbo S makes for a better daily driver with more power on demand to navigate through traffic. I know some higher power cars have trouble putting the power down and they can become unruly around town but the Turbo is completely civilized.
Well, I came up to $122K. I splurged on the Burmester stereo at $5K, a fraction of their home stereo stuff. $500 for 5mm spacers, give me a break. It was fun, but I'll stick with the old stuff.
