wait, you don't think that's awesome... do you?

Basically the end result is anything but a clean photo. Done specifically for low resolution to give an impression. It isn't even photorealistic anymore. It's more of a digital paint by number. Unfortunately, the artist doesn't have a very good sense of proportion either. A lot of work went into that, but I would not call that a master of PS.

His most used tool softens the photo so much by stretching the pixels. In very low resolutions, this works well enough; but for a high resolution image, it would need to have to have a harder edge, and defined pixels to look remotely close to real.

It's ok to call it art ;)

I'm no master by any means... but when I chop, I try to make it look plausible... ok, not really :p [in that case] If I spent another 5-6 hours, it would've looked better with more reflections in proper places. That chop was a combination of about 9 photos with color correction, reflections partially eliminated, foreground and background material to meet the needs. Not really anything similar to what was done with the video.

Here's a real problem with photoshop in modeling magazines and advertisements...
http://www.psdisasters.com/ and most of those are people who actually know how to chop with photorealism... but not any sense of proportion lol

Pretty much anyone who has been using photoshop for a year can do that.

I have to do stuff like that all the time.

I don't know about how much skill it took to do that, but I don't really think the end result was all that pretty. Still kinda cool to watch though.

I do that everytime I edit a photo and have used PS for the past 10 years and learned everything about it in college. What he did is not that hard and personally it doesn't look that great. Why he wouldn't touch up the color from pale to for some tan is beyond me.

Very basic photoshop skills, not criticizing and just stating the fact.

Isn't that process how Julia Roberts keeps ending up on magazine covers?

Lol, but in reality there's not a single photo on magazines that don't get photoshop enhanced.
