RedBull, Mclaren and Ferrari plus Mercedes as my 'dark horse' given their speed at Spa. This should be a good one!
Will Red Bull actually podium at Monza?? They have never made the podium at the temple of speed. Very interested in viewing the special low-aero packs teams are bringing.
Ferrari's low DF rear wing. And on the front wing there is some sort of actuator in the endplate, but I have no idea what it does. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes. Very interesting!.... Not sure it's an actuator though - I'm pretty sure they're not allowed to move anything up there any more. My guess (that's all!) is it's some kind of strain-gauge(s) and/or pressure monitoring system with a transponder so it can talk to the rest of the data logging kit - Possibly wirelessly (?) Gonna see if I can find a hi-res version @ Sutton. Cheers, Ian
It's there, but no better than the above [There's a few more as well, but that's the only one that shows the gizmos in there - Search "d11ita80.jpg" if interested.] This also jumped out at me - Seems Williams takes their cars to the track, then takes 'em apart!..... Shot in the garage today (Thurs). Cheers, Ian Image Unavailable, Please Login
That is with near 100% certainity a temporary sensor. You wouldn't stick a permanent device to an aerodynamically critical part like this. Hell, you wouldn't stick a permanent device anywhere like this!
