I really can't see anything either. Trying taking a picture from directly above or from the bottom looking up - i.e. lying down on the floor

Sorry for being off-topic, but is that a Cuoio dash? Looks good, do you have any interior pics.

 

+1. I was using my laptop and tilted the screen a few times and noticed that area. Not sure if its just the lighting from the background or not. Very hard to tell. Nice car though.

 

I can see what you meant in the first set of pics. I have that on my car but have no idea what it is. It buffed out with polish.

 

Spillage from the fuel nozzle?

 

I left a few spots on a yellow McLaren F1 in Manhasset years ago, but the owner said he'd gone through the same thing seeing it for the first time...

 

I think the marks are called OCD..... Sorry but I guess we just need to see the car in person but I vote for the tire shine stuff splattered around the wheel well or an oil spot as you eluded to and a good washing is all she needs...

it looks almost like an oil stain, really hard to see in the pictures, but i believe you.

unfortunately it looks miss colored, im not really sure what you could do, it looks like it may have soaked in?

I don't see how it could be gas spillage as there is a drain for the gas to leak through at the bottom of the gas lid opening.

It could be heat related, though it could have always been there and you just never noticed!

 

You can see the area in the original pics and I'd ask the dealer if they could detail the quarter panel to get it out....best people to ask, IMHO are the detailers that contribute to this forum. Good luck and let us know what caused this mark (stain) on the paint. Maybe I have OCD, because I wouldn't want that stain on my red 458 either.

 

I had the opportunity to examine the qrtr panel today. The defects are two dark ovals that appear as shadows. They are clearly under the clear.

It is either a repair to the base coat that doesn't quite match the surrounding area or a bleed through of a repair to the panel.

The clear coat does appear to be factory.

 

Had my white 458 detailed yesterday and my detailed showed me tiny pin head spots underneath the clear coat near the bottom right of wind shield. Looks like over spray droplets but you need to really look at them to notice.....
