Yeah, I was referring to the: "Maybe Nascar fans will never like F1 and they need to create a new fanbase in the US."
What you heard is wrong. I am also a NASCAR fan, I thoroughly dislike crashes as they eliminate the competition. I don't get drunk either. And the image of F1 is that it is glamorous, but in the garage, in the pits, its all the same to me, so I would never say one form of motor sports has more class than another. They are all very different. There are those that attend races that get drunk, enjoy the crashes, but that is the minority. And they exist even in F1. Ever been around a drunk Canadian or Brit? Now I do remember "The Bog" at a certain F1 race...........tons of class, and no alcohol.
I broke up a fight on the VIP balcony at the Texaco Grand Prix. A South American businessman, with his family, was being accosted by two guys from ???? over a spot on the balcony with a good view of Turn 1. I got between them, and to my surprise they both backed down, I turned and right behind me was the entire Officers Crew from a nuclear sub!! No wonder. Those NAVY guys were ready to get it on! The commander gave me a little token coin from the ship, I put it into my credential holder.
I just checked out the image gallery on COTA's website... http://www.formula1unitedstates.com/gallery.html Inspiring? Since they're so far ahead of schedule <cough>,... I would've thought they'd have had time to update the website with all their progress. Any word on when construction is due to resume?
Their FB page and other Austin GP F1 pages update often. Don't you... <cough> check your sources a bit more? There's even <cough> pictures in previous pages. And <cough> sorry, my throat is still sore after yesterday's surgery.
What does posting COTA's own website have to do with other sources? Since you seem to so knowledgable on COTA's myriad sources... do you know when construction is due to resume?
Few more days to confirm the Canadian GP seats.......but I'd go to Austin if I thought it was certain....decisions, decisions....; -\....

Is he suing for payment or to gain / keep a 5% share? From the article,it doesn't seem Tavo is disputing he owes something. But the article makes it sound like the lawyer wants $$$ not a share. The total bill for 150 hours, even at $500/hour only be is "only" $75K. Regarding the claimed 5% share.... Not sure that passes the smell test... No mention of a contract??? Show me an attorney that would do work for 5% interest and not have it in a contract / writing. I need more info to interpret this. If the suit is for payment, that is troublesome. If the suit is for a 5% share,... is there a contract?
Or he hasn't sent a bill yet because after he does it probably kills his chances of his 'promised 5%' ? Judging by the dates he said he worked with him Feb2010 - June2010, he did the work early on hoping to get bigger contrat, and then got bitter when Tavo went with a different firm. (amhurst & Brown) i think...
B.S. Any decent lawyer would have gotten a 5% stake in writing. No contract and it doesn't count. He may as well have been promised a unicorn.
Amateur night again maybe?..... Seems even Tavo ditched the clown! Having said that, aren't 'verbal' contracts valid in TX? [ They are in CA for example.....] Cheers, Ian
Verbal contracts don't mean crap unless you have multiple credible witnesses. Bottom line, get it in writing!
This thread would make it to 10K posts if one of the main characters got shot... but to be a real cliffhanger, it should've happened before the construction halt / "summer break"
j.r. ewing. owns some big ranch out there. got shot taking a shower with his cowboy hat on or something
