The september issue of the UK Classic & Sports Car talks about the Ferrari 400. The European Ferrari Club 400 is a little bit sad and angry not having been called... Is someone can scan the all article ? And give me informations about the journalists who wrote the article ? Do you know the tested Red 400i RHD 5-Speed ? Regards
The journalist was a guy called Malcolm McKay - he asked the Ferrari Owners Club to email their 400 owner members for volunteers to have their car photographed. It all seemed to happen in quite a rush at the end of June. Will scan the article when I get a chance... Suggest the European Club 400 writes to CS&C to highlight its existence, the letter may well get published in the next issue.
I think it is normal practice for interested parties to buy the magazine rather than breach copyright and distributre scans. Jonathan
Thanks for all I'd like to buy it but it's the next issue now you can buy... I will ask by mail. But I'm interested too in a scan. You can PM @ [email protected] Regards Paul
I used to get all of my magazines at Borders, until they went patooie. Barnes & Noble in my area always carry C&S, and Octane, but they've recently not been carrying Thoroughbred & Classic Car. Don't know why, they had it before. B&N seem to be very slow about putting new issues out for sale, for some reason. And their display racks (at least in my local store) are HORRIBLE. I complained to the floor manager, who basically told me to stop bothering her.
Ok is it the September or October issue? I'm looking thru the Sept issue now and can't find any thing about our cars.
The local B&N got their shipment in on Monday, I flipped through the piece, good article, but the same info that you would have had spending 15 minutes in this section.
Agree totally. Pretty predictable stuff. Not worth buying for that article unless you want the rest of that issue.
A very brief write-up written by a guy who probably spent less than an hour with a well-used example. None of the copy sounds like they are describing the cars that I know- "The ride was a compromise, with some crashing and harshness being normal at low speeds on poorly maintained roads."- really? Not my 400i or 412... they are smooth and steady over practically anything- No mention of the "Hard TRX syndrome", no mention of inspecting for front end bushings or of the importance of correct cam timing and valve adjustment. A quick and dirty writeup.
you need contemporary articles, when they're being measured against similar vintage cars, to get an objective opinion...i've got lots and they rave about these cars when new. they're fantastic and, imho, the perfect Ferrari for the un-rich family man...they 'tick all the boxes'...a low entry cost, front engine V-12 that you can enjoy with family and friends alike.
