saw a 456Gt they have, I wanted a 550 but this green is hot looking....dog
I have ONLY been looking 7 nights a week or 8 weeks, geez, you want me to but a POS???? How long did it take you to find your car...give me your checkbook and I will buy some crap tomorrow...............dog! PS I don't know eurotrash........I will take it as a compliment...
They are just cars, nothing more, nothing less. No, let me rephrase that, the cars you are looking at are just old cars, nothing more, nothing less. Frankly, the average 550 or 456 is in better shape today than when it left the factory. Bottom line, if you are looking for a 10+ year old sports car where everything works, buy a Porsche. Dale PS Fantasy Junction was probably selling Ferraris when you were wearing diapers.
and stop being a butt, I am not interested in your nasty comments; and for the record I was in my 20's when they opened so keep quiet if you can't something nice! dog
I purchased my 1975 GT4 from them in April. Very good people and a first class operation. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again. Pull the trigger and live a little.
They are 45 minutes north of where I live. I just drove up and checked it out myself. They let me drive it and put it up on their lift to look under the car.
I think the problem is, you're looking at 550's, 360's, 355's, 456's.... pretty much every model. And... you're thinking of buying a certain color based on what a dealer told you.... and.... You would be better off, thinking about what you want, what color, what options; and find that car, rather than chasing every Ferrari out there.
good point but I am not interested in a 355, and the color question was just that, I was trying to use that to justify a lower offer, the ONLY color I have never owned is yellow...I have bought too many cars to recall, I am unlike ,many here NOT "gotta have this" kind of car guy. I like many models from many mfg, I have had several Jag types, Maserati types, Lotus types, etc..BUT what is important to me is to find the model that is the best example of that model so if a 456 is in better shape than the 550 I have been looking at then that's why but your point is well taken and I appreciate that. Moreover, if it had options great, I am NOT looking for any specific options, all or none is fine for me while for example everyone tells you do not buy the maserati 4200 GT coupe without "skyhook", a suspension option, then I took that advcie and found that car.....dog
It's one thing to ask a question or two, another to be posting threads in all sorts of different subforums and regional forums on this board without even being subscribed. Enthusiasm of the chase is understandable. But show some respect to the board and subscribe already. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/payments.php
Enough of the dog-piling on...well....Dog. He's genuinely looking for a car, asking questions on an enthusiast's board. Guys: if you don't want to help him, ignore his threads. As mentioned above I took years to find a car and yes, I got an outstanding car that has not given me one lick of trouble in 3.5 years. Dog: no reason to rush your purchase, ignore these guys.
A 456 was a flagship car at the time, it'll be optioned nicely, as will most 550s and 575s. A green Ferrari you will not sell easily, in the future... but I have seen several and like you think it's a rather cool color on the car! You could do the Saint Patricks Parade every year with some hot tuna riding shotgun. This dealer is very well known, to address your post. That's a really nice 360 Stradale that just hit FerrariAds, 4K miles and flawless. I like the stick shift for myself. Come down to Franco's Party next month and spend some time tire kicking all the models. Maybe Dr. Who will show up and we could all cheer him up a little... Image Unavailable, Please Login
guys I am a middle aged guy that has owned many sports cars,I am a medical professional and this forum is starting to be the ONLY one that seems to be annoyed with "newbies", if you cannot help or do not want to help that's fine; but stop the sh-- a-- comments already, yes you ANZIR, Dr. Who.... and as far as subscribing I just found out about that 48 hours ago and I JUST BOUGHT A ROSSA membership, are you happy now???? dog
Hey dog, you know you can have a lot of fun NOT buying a Ferrari Don't you? http://www.ferrarichat.com/velostrada/issues/200505/Analysis%20Paralysis.pdf
Dog, I think you are doing what it takes to avoid having a major case of buyer's remorse when you eventually buy your Ferrari. I prefer the 550 over the 456, but the 456 is a stunning design in it's own right. For a 2+2, it is a head turner. Good luck on your search.
There's a sleeper BLUE 456 in NYC that might be available. The guy's wife rescinded "permission" once he brought it in....
You know.....(just thinking out loud here)...the one thing about your approach to the market (using ads and dealers) is that with a Ferrari, that's not ALWAYS the way to get a 'good one"....furthermore, that's where a lot of "seven owners, missing the key fobs, we don't know the last time it was REALLY serviced but its CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN!!!" kind of cars end up, looking for new homes. IF you spend time 'chatting up locals" here or at FCA gatherings, you often find entusiasts that either trade yearly, or own multiple examples, or for other reasons are letting go of great cars that have been 'always stored inside and only driven on sunny days and polished with a Groits Garage microfiber towel that is then thrown away and here's every receipt for every time a mechanic touched the oil pan plug". And usually you won't pay any MORE for these examples, and in fact by avoiding a dealer altogether it'll usually be less. Now, in some of your posts you seem concerned about "Warranty' and Service Guarantees and stuff like that. That's not usuall y present in the 'used Ferrari" market, or any exotic for that matter. You buy the one you like, and if next week the engine blows or it's consumed in a MASSIVE fireball, well.....you stop.....drop....and roll, man!
