No, its just clothes in the closet that shrink over time. I can't explain why, but they do.

Pictures from Pebble Beach. Three Espadas at Concorso Italiano. I had severe carb issues and had a friend bring up my six spare Webers from my garage. We did the carb swap in the afternoon on the green at the show. Gave people a taste of what it's really like to own one! Drove it back to LA, 350 miles, with no problems! Thanks to Bob Huber, Mike Trivich, and Laust Pedersen especially!

Ha! True. I have "that vette" (2009 C6) and it's just the right size for me...because it's designed for...um...just about every size imaginable. (I'm 6' tall, 170 lbs)

But also, it's a 190mph car so you really do want some "substance" there.

    Cheers,

    Fred

Great photos Aaron. (of course, that's not Pebble Beach, it's Monterey, but close enough.)

So you mean your friend drove all the way up from LA?? Man, that is a friend! Sheesh.

Will there be an article coming out of this? (I mean, a "good" article :)

    Fred

I also post this for the simple reason that I really like white wall tires on the Espada. Maybe it's just so 70's. I probably would do that.

It has been a long time coming but we eventually collected her on Saturday afternoon to go to the Sharnbrook Hotel (UK) for their Italian Car Day. She looked every bit as good as I had expected and the response from the visitors was amazing. Here she is ready to leave the safety of the garage where she has been for the last 3 years (finding parts and money was the main reason for the time it took)
And then with the sun shining at the show

Is this the same lime green Espada that was for sale here for awhile? Eventually sold on Ebay I think...or was that car from the Northeast? (LOVE the color by the way...)

The Espada looks beautiful and that's an unusual colour as well. I've seen more photos of the rebuild on another site. Congratulations, it looks fantastic.

Am I correct in thinking you also have an orange Gallardo? I may be mixing you up with someone else if not!

Hi Thanks for the comments and yes we do have the orange Gallardo. Everything we have done has been to keep to original. The colour is Maronne or Marrone which in Italian means chestnut! Apparently only ever 2 in this brown came to England, I dont know about the rest of the world though. The interior was made in Italy by the guy who made them originally. He still has the tooling to make the pattern in the leather. Once I have all the photography from the restorers I will create her own website to share with everyone. Keep the dream alive!

Ah, I thought I recognized the guy in the second photo, presumably your husband. I've met him at a few shows over the years, Brooklands and Gaydon, and always have a chat to him. Last time I saw him was at Gaydon about 2 or 3 years ago, with the Gallardo. Hope to see the Espada at a show sometime in the future.

Hi. It felt like forever so I do wish you luck, how much have you done or got to still do.

My goal was to keep everything as original as possible which started with the respray. Its not even easy finding the colour codes now. Luckily, a member of LCUK had the codes so we were able to match the colour. All of the patterning in the leather was done in Italy by the original makers, so again, the right colour, including the carpets and dash. We even found a little company that restored the dash instruments. Some of the switches are from Fiat, the headlights came from a Ferrari classic spares supplier and the rear lights from a Maserati. Its gathering the knowledge from the past that has been so difficult. A seal on something was leaking and the correct size came from a domestic immersion heater!
The wiring loom was a nightmare but the guys doing it knew their stuff. Some of the connections are used in the aircraft industry and if they couldnt find something specific they made it. I will eventually make a website dedicated to them and the car. I cant wait to have her back full time and drive it like I used to. Some of the paint is showing marks through as that was done 7 years ago, but once that is done I will be taking her to every show or event I can.

What I would love to do is organize and Espada event. Perhaps next year at the Silverstone Classic Car Show, so anyone interested, please contact me
