Videos like the Inside P4/5C Chapters show how fun it is to race, I wish I could have gone.

Darn, I gotta figure out a way to change my name from some guy who hops in front of Ferrari Enzo's :p

Plus I gotta comment more on Ferrarichat.

    Oh Jim Glickenhaus,

I went to the Greenwich concourse, I guess I missed your chevy Baja Boot :( I think it was at the front of the place or something like that. I went on the first day which was American car themed though, didn't know the two car types were separated into 2 different days.

Some weeks before the 24h I mentioned Dörr Motorsport as a competitor since this is my BMW dealer.

Since 2006 they finished once 7th, two times 10th and 2010 9th overall, last year in a BMW Z4 GT3.

This year wasn't their best. They finished 38th, just in front of P4/5C.

Now they anounced their new cars for 2012: They will start with two McLaren MP4-12C GT3.

They will get full factory support, since McLaren choosed them, while they are also managing the upcoming McLaren dealership in Frankfurt.

They're pretty cool. It's amazing how much support and preparation goes into getting a race car ready for the track.

Was the reason for the torsion tests that drivers were reporting chassis flex at the end of the race, or is this standard procedure ahead of an event?

    All the best,
    Andrew.

It's to compare what the race did to the car and to see how we can improve her for her next adventure.

No matter what's next we will be re engineering and re enforcing her chassis and suspension mounts.

The car is scattered around testing and figuring out what we're going to do.

We may race again at The ring in the end of October.

I really hope you do. Although I couldn't be at the track to cheer you on last time, it was a lot of fun tuning in remotely and following P4/5C. :D

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Is the idea to get rid of the night-time frog eyes for improved night-time aerodynamics?

    All the best,
    Andrew.

there is more fluidity in this new front bonnet desing.

the curve ends of the air inlet makes it look more pure.

enlarge the size of the lights make sense.

it must be recognize that your competitiors didn't had to use those unsightly spotlights on

top of the bonnet wich affected aerodynamics.

I wouldn't have called the spotlights unsightly, they were pretty cute really - reminiscent of numerous classic British designs. :)

I do wonder how much they did affect aerodynamics though.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

    3 configurations were tested

the first used at fraciacorta testing: lights at both ends of the bonnet (second picture)

the second used in the first two races looked very good indeed (first picture) you're probably talking about them ;)
it's a shame that modern sports cars are not fitted with spotlights anymore like xk 120's 250gt's etc, i realy love them!

but these two didn't seemed efficient

the third ; 24h configuration (third picture) with the lights on the upper bonnet affected the looks of it.......

    i think

The third looked like mounted machine-guns... good for hunting the competition! ;)

The larger headlights will help a lot but we're not yet sure that they'll eliminate the need for auxiliary night spots.

I'm happy to announce that we will continue racing.

Our plans are to contest the last VLN race at The Ring at the end of October with a semi Evo version (New Tail/Sail and more HP and weight) Next year we'll add EVO nose and possiblily KERS.
