    Very neat!

So you saw the Huayra in person? If so, how was it? I'm a huge Pagani fan :)

Thanks for posting the nitty gritty engineering stuff Jim. Fascinating to see all the know-how at work.

    As a speculative aside:

A future automotive collaboration on the part of yourself and Mr. Pagani would be quite amazing. Your vision, his attention to detail... A bespoke SCG Pagani would be, bar none, the best supercar ever made. Food for thought. :)

He has slowly become my favorite manufacturer over the last few years. Attention to detail is the best in the world, and he never fails to deliver on all performance fronts.

The Huayra makes me feel 12 again. Love it.

Good to hear. I hope to visit the Pagani factory within the next few years :)

In many ways Pagani is what Lamborghihi was.

Jim, it almost seems that a man like Horacio Pagani and yourself are a perfect fit on a collaboration for a new super car. Although I loved the Zonda, the Huyara is still growing on me, but the engineering and interior truly are second to none.

Collecting some basic literature for my students, I found this excercise in a textbook (Resa N. Jazar: "Vehicle Dynamics -Theory and Applications", Springer New York 2008, page 35) :)

I presume you pulled out the school's resident p4/5 to do the practical test for finding out the answer? :p

I'll take a stab at that:

    Front: 335/30/R20 = circumference of 2227.39mm

    2227.39mm = 2.22739m = 0.00222739km

    362kph / 0.00222739km = 162522.055 revolutions per hour

162522.055 revs per hour = 2708.700916 revs per min = 45.14501527 revs per sec

Answer: 45.15 revolutions per second (to 2 decimal places)

    Alternative answer: 45.14501527 * 360 = 16252.2055 degrees per second

    Rear: 255/35/R20 = circumference of 2156.70mm

    2156.70mm = 2.15670m = 0.00215670km

    362kph / 0.00215670km = 167849.0286 revolutions per hour

167849.0286 revs per hour = 2797.48381 revs per min = 46.62473017 revs per sec

Answer: 46.62 revolutions per second (to 2 decimal places)

    Alternative answer: 46.62473017 * 360 = 16784.90286 degrees per second

Or if you'd like averages for the whole car:
    • average (front and back) revolutions per second: 45.88 (to 2 decimal places)
    • average (front and back) degrees per second: 16518.55 (to 2 decimal places)

And now I await my grade from either Florian or Jim. :D

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Except that VMAX for Ferrari P 4/5 by Pininfarina is 233MPH at redline and it can pull redline in top gear...

Oh bother... well, my answer applies to the printed question then - even if it doesn't really apply to P4/5.

    All the best,

You failed horribly. The question clearly asks for angular velocity, which, in the civilized world, is measured in radians per second. Immediate removal from the university would be my only choice for any student who came up with such a grave mistake. In Germany, vee take ze units seriously!!

    LOL! :D

    Sorry Professor!

    All the best,
    Andrew.

    PS:
    • Front: 283.65 radians per second, using original info. 293.82 radians per second, using Jim's updated Vmax.
    • Rear: 292.95 radians per second, using original info. 303.45 radians per second, using Jim's updated Vmax.
    • Average: 288.30 radians per second, using original info. 298.64 radians per second, using Jim's updated Vmax.
