I can't believe we're at 20! And congrats to nthfinity on the last contest. This one should be good: Artificial lighting techniques. IE you can use a flash, bulbs, headlights, flashlights, soft lights, florescent; and even day/moonlight, as long as you also have use of an artificial light on the subject of the photo that shows. Feel free to use PS/ Lightroom to bring out the most of it... but the man made light has to be real Post up your entries here and please name them as your username (ie 4rephotographer.jpg) Also please make it very clear if your entry is an actual entry, a sample or a re-entry. Good luck!
Here's my entry. Taken this past Monday (September 12th). Natural lighting and is clearly visible in the sky. High-res: http://www.flickr.com/photos/24673238@N07/6142388435/in/photostream Looking forward to seeing everyone else's entries! -G.B. Image Unavailable, Please Login
No, but there were street lights behind me in the parking lot that illuminated the car and the ground. -G.B.
Here's my entry.... Dolphin statue with fountain - flash used to freeze the water in motion. From Boise 2 weeks ago. Jedi Image Unavailable, Please Login
Please Clarify... This contest is to shoot with 2 sources of Light??? 1 is artificial and the other is natural in Combination.. A flash over the natural lit subject which leads to very fast shutter speeds Right??
Ok.... RULES BY THE BOOK this time!!!! Mrs Jedi and I went for pizza and jazz at a local jazz club TONIGHT!! Our table faced a brick wall in this rather dark room. The horn dude came out onto the floor during a solo and I think I blinded him with flash At least it was heavily bounced, so hopefully not too bad for him - I normally wouldn't use flash, but it was too good a chance to pass up. He didn't beat me up with his horn, nor did he fling our pizza on the floor.... so all's well. The colored ceiling lights were UGLY so I converted to B/W and pumped the contrast. The "hand" behind him is painted on the wall. So this is my official entry "Horn Man" Jedi Image Unavailable, Please Login
Sorry it didn't "fit the rules" (my first didn't either ).... but that's a nice shot - it tells a story in a single frame, IMO. Jedi
Very cool! The B&W edit works very well here. The hand painted on the wall also adds a lot to the image. Very nicely done!
Nice shot but I think that is technically a Flugelhorn not a trumpet. I need to remember to take some shots for this one!!
Actually, you are correct! But he plays both - at one point during the show he played both AT THE SAME TIME!! Yep - two horns on his lips both playing harmony at the same time. Never seen anything like that.... got quite the applause from the crowd. Jedi
