    Hi,

I am new to Fort Lauderdale, Florida - just moved from Europe to this paradise.

Bought a house and a ferrari - I need a mechanic to perform service and cam belt job on my 360 spider - I live very close to the authorised Ferrari dealer - Their prices are outragous!

Do you guys have any recommendations? and what should I expect to pay?

    Thanks,

    Johnny,

Hi guys. I am the owner of the dealership in Fort Lauderdale. Did you call on the price or did you just assume it was outrageous. i mean we do a full MAJOR service for $3200.

That is not just the belts but also tensioners and all fluids, filters etc. When you say "Cam Belts" i assume you mean timing belts. Did you mean "Cam SEALS"?

Here is direct link to all of our special vintage service pricng that is STANDARD. No hassle. no neotiations necessary. It is just our pricing dedicated to keeping the drivers of Belt Driven cars on the road more often. All services for these cars are aggresively priced to make sure maintenance isnt what holds you back.

It is all of the advantage of an Authorized shop without being gouged like you originally discussed. Which is why i was so shocked. we already proactively addressed this. Here are the advantages:
    1) FUll Multi Point Inspection with color report for your official records
    2) Update of the Official Service BOok with stamps which proves the work was done
    3) Only Ferrari original OEM Parts
    4) Free Pick up and Delivery
    5) Loaner car provided
    6) All Ferrari parts installed by a Ferrari Dealership come iwth an automatic 2 year warranty from Ferrari
    7) Factory Trained and certiified Master Techs.

    Should I go on?

here is the direct link to the pricing on the site. http://www.ferrarifl.com/vintage.php

These are actually much lower prices than I thought they would be! (Shopping for a 360 now and thought a major service would be much more.)

I have been to the dealership in Ft. Lauderdale. Nice showroom. Loved the custom Alfa 8c, saw the yellow / maroon one that was owned by a big customer. With regards to changing cambelts, I have seen prices from $1400 specials, to normal $1800. Tensioners do not have to be replaced every cambelt service. Their prices seem fair to me, and similar to what I paid at RTGT.

I think you need to come back to this thread you started with this statement you made re pricing and explain to us exactly what is outragous. The prices that are posted by the dealer in this thread are less than I've seen at any of the three dealers I've gotten quotes from and are less than the two indy shops I've gotten quotes from...

Are you for real? Spamming us? What?

In his defense - this might be the OP's first Ferrari he just purchased and not everybody researches the cost to maintain an F-car as most of us have. Then again, at least a bit of research BEFORE claiming that a vendor charges outrageous fees would be appropriate before posting.........

    Hello Mattyrae,

    Thanks for the kind words.

I would never want to argue a technical point. But I want to make sure everyone understands what you said.

Our price is not for a Cam Belt Service. It is for a full major service which is required under the maintenace guidlelines from Ferrari. It includes ALL fluids changed, including oil and filter, anti-freeze, brake fluid, gearbox fuid including a gearbox flush, washer flid, along with the belts replacesd (all 5 not just timing belts) both tensioner bearings, both air filters and the pollen filter. It is a very big job. There is no such thing as just a belt service. It is a way of offering a cheaper yet incomplete service.

ALso, I do wnat to point out that it is never a good idea to change the belts without changing the tensioner bearing. IT is required by Ferrari and if that bearing fails (which is often more likely tahn the belt breaking) then the engine will fail. Also the car is apart so it crazy not to perform that work while you have done all the work already.

I hope that was helpful. I am not being argumentative but wanted to make sure everyone understand what is involved in a true major service versus a belt change. I Figured those who knew would skip it those who didnt would find it infomrative.

    Garrett

I am sure he just assumed they would be outrageous. I didnt take it as an attack especially since our pricing is not some weekly special. It is our fixed standar pricng on our website and quoted by our staff.

We are committed to making those cars (belt driven cars) affordable to maintaine so the true drivers can drive them more often. Older classic cars need expensive restorations but they are worth hudreds of thousands of dollars to millions of dollars and the newer cars have a higher value but are more affordable to maintain. That leaves those cars in the middle for which we have built a speical program called Vintage Fearri Service Program. Not only are the services affordable but all repairs are similarly priced. It is our dedication to you guys.
