There is a Mondial 8 coupe listed on ebay:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180724095478

I sent the seller a request for the most recent service records so he banned me from bidding. He also banned me from sending him another message asking him why. I was a serious buyer and was very courteous in my one communication with him.

Sometimes when something smells bad, it is indeed bad.. Be very careful.

~ That car looks stunning. Best looking 8 I've seen [on line] in quite some time. The auction does list recent service. But that's no exscuse for banning anyone from asking the seller a question about it.

    This could get interesting.

    IMHO

Nice car. The last photo show a 2/2011 smog service receipt with a note by mechanic stating "Car due for major tune up"

One photo shows service summary from 1987 to 2006.

I like that one, needs different wheels though.

I agree and would probably go with the "originals" from Superformance.

Yes, they certainly look great on the 3.2 but, with the Mondial 8's black bumpers and trim, the OEM style wheels look much more appropriate (IMHO).

BTW, here's another nice Silver/Red 8 Coupe on ebay... rare enough as it is but two at the same time?

I sent the seller a question about the fender shields and any rust issues and got a courtious response. Could be a unique issue.

I did finally manage to get in touch with the seller and he told me he banned me accidentally.

Is anyone hear Palm Springs, CA that would be willing to do a PPI?
    Thanks,
    Tim

I see that the rear screen is tinted, anyone know the product for this as here in NZ everyone says it can't be done.

See post #10. e-Bay has a ask seller question option. You are high bidder but reserve is not met. Just don't put in another bid and you won't be obligated to buy.

FWIW, Ferrari didn't use any real rust proofing until MY 1984 when they began using galvanized steel.

I am still happy with my bid, I might up it a bit. I guess it is just me but if I have rust on my car I mention it. I looked at picks hard in al common spots and didn't see any to note then going back over bam right there on sunroof. Noticeable in person I bet way more. Still a good car but there is no way the seller didn't notice and he should of noted.... just sayin :)

Brad, I wouldn't up your bid by much! The current bid (reserve not met) is $12,500. The car has rust, both air strakes are broken, there is a dent in the rear deck lid, and I bet that the seats look much worse in person than in photos. Also, the engine bay is very dirty, which is uncharacteristic of an "enthusiast" owned car. Finally, you'll have to pay for shipping from IL to TX, which will only add to your costs.

There are MUCH better cars available for not much more money.

(Oh, and metric wheels! The tires are very expensive to replace...)

My high bid was right at 12500 I am going to push to 13500, we are brokers at my shop so I can ship for 500-600 enclosed I think 14k landed is a fair number on the car. I want to use it as a driver now that doc has taught me the cam belt job I am not afraid of running an 8 as a dd. The only thing that does suck is texas sun on silver ohh yea and the rust ;) btw my 83 is about to get running just a little left to get her on road and I also have to rid it of the metrics on it. My goal is to have one of each mondial with in a year. The 3.2 and t are after the 8 and I will hold those to a higher standard

Brad, Texas sun on Silver does suck. And on blue, red, white... Grigio...

I didn't drive my Mondial AT ALL this summer due to the heat. Not a bit. (I did start it a few times, and backed it out of my garage once.) It's funny, but my best friend who lives in Minnesota just prepped his cars for the winter, whereas I'm prepping mine to finally drive them. (I drove my convertible M Roadster to work yesterday, and hope to drive the Mondial this Friday.)

Good luck with the purchase! Silver is a great color for the Mondials.
