    Mmmmmm eh where to start

Ahhh thats better 21341 begining to get there have rebuilt waterpump and starting to put back together. Its great learning about all this as I thought the engine compartment for the car was actually just for luggage. Being poor helps too as I might have just sent this off for someone else to do!
    Magic fun
    Regards all

Welcome to the secret mad & brave club. Working on your own Ferrari will just enhance the proud feeling when taking it out for a spin. You are now part curator of a piece of automotive history. ;)

    Again, good job!!!

Looks great! Did you paint the block? What paint did you use?

    Hello Alberto
Yes the block was painted with VHT and Cam covers with VHT wrinkle finish. These paints need to be cured so the cam covers went into my mums oven. But unfortunately she wasnt really up for me trying to wedge the engine in too!!! So I will use an infrared heater for that.
Rebuilt water/oil pump and replacing bearings and tensioner in front cover.
    Regards
    Alastair

Delicious! Cam covers a la VHT...my wife almost shot me the other day :)
Does the VHT survive the oils and fuels?

    Regards, Alberto

Hope your wifes oven is ok. The VHT engine metallic is what I used it is very resistant to oil etc once cured though they say it can also be cured just by running the engine. I will go down infrared heater route. Temp resistance is 650f hopeully it will never need to put up with that!!!
    Regards
    Alastair

What work was done and do you have an estimate of how much work and money you invested so far?

Little jealous of your engine now...

    Hello Flo
    Thanks very much
I really am not an expert so just putting back together after waterpump failure. So did a clean up and paint while the engine was out. Its great getting the moral support from the real deal guys previous such as Brettski, Peter etc those guys build engines for breakfast!

So far lots of time enjoyable learning and some surprisingly cheap parts ie gaskets bearings and oddly the ocassional silly priced parts ie tensioner in last thread!

Sorry I cant really remember how much its been in time and money I think that would need a whole new thread!!!! All of these things depend on engine wear etc etc.

    Regards
    Alastair
