Pouring monsoon type rain is on the radar for all this weekend! Should be an interesting race! Discuss.
The Mclarens seems to work incredibly well in cold weather conditions, but this being Singapore (it'll remain warm!) other teams might have a bit of a chance as well. Of course I'll hope for Schumacher but that's doubt full, considering it's only the 4th fastest car. A podium would be terrific! Hamilton will either finish 1st/2nd or crash out. Vettel is normally very good in the rain as well. If it's changing conditions or Hamilton has crashed out, Button will likely be on the podium.
I know SIngapore is about 3 hours away from my location, but it's the rainy season now, for what it's worth..
Yeah, but doesn't it pour down for an hour or so then quit & dry up? [By the evening when they're running?] I can't recall now - Have we had any wet sessions/races in Singapore? Cheers, Ian
No Ian, we did not have any wet sessions yet. However, the weather's a bit confusing in this region now. One time it's so hot, next thing it rains the whole next 2 days, albeit drizzle.
Had a massive shower today, between 2 pm till about 4 pm. I think it could potentially be a wet weekend.
Come to think of it, I can't think of a Singapore GP where rain was not forecast for the weekend, but qualy and the race always seemed very able to steer clear of actually having any
+1 Even the locals tell us it's gonna piss down! Then it turns out to be drier than <insert your preferred metaphor here>. "This is why we watch". Cheers, Ian
I have to say, even though he's no longer a Ferrari driver I'm actually impressed with the amount of loyalty most still have for Michael. Regardless of how some justifiably feel about his questionable tactics, he is clearly the most successful driver in F1 history. The fact that most of that occurred while driving for the Scuderia is not a fact lost on me or many others here. I'm looking forward to an exciting weekend. I'd tip any of the 5 champs for the win (but I think Vettel is the safe bet).
Hamilton's retirements have been: - Crashed out by Jensen in Canada (I know, Jensen says he didn't see him but the camera tells a different story) - Crashed out by Kobi in Spa (Yes, technically he moved in when he assumed Kobi yielded the position, but it was a reasonable expectation based on how other drivers behaved at that corner throughout the weekend) He really doesn't have a problem finishing races...now that I think of it, he's only finished below 4th two other times (Malaysia and Monaco). He'll probably be in the mix again this weekend.
Tactics or not? he is and will for a long long time be the best driver there is? Alonso? Hamilton? even Seb wish they could drive like him? But I would love to see a Lotus on the podium so hey ho
It poured this morning on us here, and was nice last night....sun is trying to come out now. It is the same weather every time I come here. Anyone's guess is as good as mine but last year there was a threat of rain and the track was dry for the race. Hoping for a bit of rain this year though!
