I am so stupid. I was mounting my GoPro on my rear bumper so I can record some beautiful exhaust notes on my 09 California. I only have one key! Previous owner lost the 2nd key. I closed the trunk and left my key in there. Now I see all the amber lights light up except on the front driver's seat. WHAT SHOULD I DO?!?! Can my local dealer get it open? Or I have to special order one from Modena Ferrari!??!?! OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    HELP!!!!!

Open the back of the two rear seats so that the "benches are exposed. You will notice there is a passthrough hole connecting the cab of the car to the trunk. You should be able to get enough of your head and body into the trunk with a flashlight and find your key. I had a similar problem when the automatic trunk release would not work after my car had been parked in the garage with the battery charger connected. The car will not start with the charger and I couldn't get in the trunk to disconnect it. I am 6'2" but still was able to fit enough of my body through the passthrough hole to release the charger. The other option is to bribe one of your kids to climb back there and get the key for you. Good luck.

Thanks for the advise! My hardtop is closed and the trunk is closed. I don't quite understand how I manage to reach my hands in the trunk. I didn't LOCK the car. I just closed my rear trunk with my key inside. My car's signal lights are all on except the driver side.

If the car is open and functioning, then you should be able to open the trunk using the release button on the floor between the drivers seat and the door. That button is just above the button to release the gas tank cap. If that does not open the trunk, then you will have to enter the trunk through the back seat passthrough hole to obtain your key.

    1. I use the key fob to open the trunk ( not doors )
    2. I accidental left the key fob in the trunk
    3. All amber lights all lid up except driver headlights.

The key must be in the ignition for this to work?

If the car is locked and you have no access to the cab or the trunk, then you have a problem.

The trunk release button should work if the car cab is open even without the key.

I can't open my both doors and trunk. Tried to press the key hole and it doesn't do anything.

If you cannot get into the vehicle, you will need assistance unlocking the doors. Unfortunately, I know very little about "carjacking". Perhaps a call to AAA or a locksmith will help. Good luck.

man, dealer said they cannot do anything except ordering a new key. ( on it's way )
They said I could either break the window or break the lock.

A new key and time are a lot cheaper than a new window or lock. Besides, after a month or so you'll have the pleasure of relearning to drive her.

Is a new key really cheaper than breaking the window? Genuine question.

The driver window in my 997 was smashed, i had it fixed for less than $1100 with some paint job on the driver door.

If you live in the US join AAA or some road service that provides for lock outs? Or some such service in your country...

    Maybe?

I hope to hell that a new key does not cost more than $1100. Yikes !

Can they just replicate the key or do they have to provide a new key (new lock and new code)?

What about providing the Key Code (if you have it). The dealer should be able to replicate from that. My Ford dealer could - ask me how I know...

Thanks everyone! Decided not to break anything, will let her rest. Waiting for my new key to arrive as soon as possible. Dealer told me approximately 3 weeks.
