I'm on the look out for a 348. I'm no stranger to how expensive project cars can get. I'm going to get my feet wet in a 348 that needs minor work. I'm fairly accustomed to doing my own work on my cars. Current fleet consists of lotus exige,2 e30 m3's and a z3 m coupe. I have cash so title status isn't an issue. I'd prefer a theft over a wreck and something that will start and run. So point me in the right direction of a 348 I can use as a track car and weekend beater! Thanks again guys

Here is a suggestion: Delete the words "weekend beater" from your post and you'll probably get a more positive response. "Track cars" are cool. "Weekend beater" conjures up images of hillbillies in old pickup trucks.

If you have an Exige what the $ell are you looking for a 348 for?
They're heavier, slower and nowhere near as much fun to drive.
I have both and my 348 is relegated to sport cruising and track at
Ferrari events only. Its just not the same! If your exige is getting pedestrian
for you then boost it! I'm at 14psi and over 300hp and very few cars can
keep up. Way more fun to drive!! I love my Fcar but.....

HA I gotcha, well with what I'd like to spend it will be at the lower echelon of what 348's have to offer. It would be a weekend driver and project. I'll get my first chance at large service for ferraris also. So if anyone could help point me in the right direction that would be great. High mileage, undocumented, rebuilt titles, or needing light mechanical or body work is ideal.
It's just something to have, I've always wanted a Fcar and something about the boxiness and style of the 348 just gets me going. I love my exige, but I drive it pretty frequently so heavier slower and a bit smoother ride would be nice.

I totally get it, I have an Elise with a tricked out TVS supercharger, air to water intercooler (All BOE Fabrication stuff) and lightened to about 1700Lb. And I am in the market for a well sorted, clean condition F355. They are totally different cars and not mutually exclusive.

I dropped him a pm, judging by his build might be more than I'd like to get into. We shall see though. Thanks for the heads up!

Daniel - are you jumping ship? :):)

Moving on to a different model, or taking a break from Ferrari ownership?

My budget depends really, I know it end up costing me in the end but i'd rather spend less from the get go. That way if it sits i don't feel as bad as its a cash purchase. So pm me with your projects!

Ahem, the 358 is not a project car unless you had a the wild idea of restoring to a street car. And that would be an absolute tragedy.

'Weekend beater' and Ferrari may be used in the same sentence without fear of opprobrium. Your preference for a stolen car, however, is priceless.

Have some faith! I've had my 348 for almost eight years, but now want to explore something a wee bit different. But trust me, it'll be all in the name of "product development" and "market research" for Ricambi America.

And heck, I certainly don't need to sell it -- I just want the garage space. I would prefer that it goes to somebody who loves the 348 model and wants to immerse themselves in the brotherhood. 57,xxx miles on the clock.

    • Car had a major + full top end rebuild (valves, guides, etc) in 2007
    • Car had a brand new 0-mile gearbox (from a 94 Spider) installed in 2007
    • Car had new twin disc clutch, waterpump, oil pump tensioner upgrade, welded cam gear, etc etc in 2007.
(All of the above was done at Competzione & Sports Cars in Gaithersburg, MD.)
    • Car has Speedline Challenge wheels, with Hill Engineering titanium bolts. Cooper tires with 85-90% tread remaining
    • LeMans grill
    • Full carbon fiber roof. OEM roof satchel.
    • ice cold A/C (new compressor in 05)
    • Hyper Flow Cats
    • X-OST/Maranello muffler, etc.
    • Complete tools, two red satin covers, 1 stormproof grey cover
    • + a ton of stuff I cannot even recall.
    • Factory roof, factory wheels, factory rear grill + lamps included with purchase

All scheduled and regular maintenance is by Sport Auto in Summerfield, NC

$35,500, and includes a $1000 credit toward anything the buyer needs from Ricambi America.

After 8 yrs I am sure it would be hard to let her go. Especially since you have been through SO much together Daniel. :)

I wish you all the best either way and look forward to hearing about what you have in store next. ;)
