Not a bad "compromise"! ;) Love FP Journe, and Jaquet Droz too. I've seen the PanoInverse XL for $9,700 but I'm still hunting.

My Great Uncle's Tissot which I have just had restored :)

I only have vague memories of him as he died when I was young. He was a great bloke - a real outback Australian who served in WWI (was wounded three times in action collecting bullets in his leg, arm, and shoulder). I recently read his war records and on the first page was three days confined to barracks for "being out in town without leave" (in Salisbury, UK, prior to deployment). This seemed to be a recurring theme in his records :)

beautiful watch, but i will never get why the screws don't "look" in one direction.

yes very nice watch but like you said...the lack of uniform orientation of the screws is the ONLY reason i will never own a hublot. it is too much for me to handle.

It looks terrific for a watch that's over 100 years old. ;-)

Re: Hublot. I'm amazed that a marque of that calibre doesn't pay attention to a detail like the screws. If I were to see that I would guess it was a replica simply because I would expect a higher level of finish on a watch that carries that kind of a price tag.

i'm sure the answer lies in the precision torque specs and the ability to remain h2o resitant.
that said, i would think they would have looked for a more elegant solution.

can anyone w/ more basis weigh in? this has come up before but w/ no resolution.
