David Mckay rally 2012.

It's horizontally opposed 2 x 6 pistons. I've always thought that the pistols lay perfectly flat, hence the whole thing about being a BOXER engine. Boxer meaning 6 x 6 flat.
BUT, I'm not an expert on this, in fact I'm not an expert on anything, unlike AIRCON

 

we put a straight edge on my TR when we did the belts.........and could see daylight in the middle.

I have to find where I read it, but it was a criteria for F1 back then that engines had to be V configuration and Enzo being a mental giant thought that 2 degrees would make a nice V

and being "flat" the engine would sit lower in an F1 thus creating lower centre of gravity

 

Don't think flat 12's qualify. ???? Only for V12 cars up to 1973

365 boxer was actually first produced in 1973 fyi. So I wonder what they'd say if you rolled up in that (not that I am ready to do that) mines 1976 anyway

I took the 512 on a carbi guys lunch run recently and I was really surprised at how good that car drives and how good it looks compared with cars the same vintage or earlier.

they'll say NO to AIRCON, but they usually say YES to me, because my cars are RED lol
