Don't start the flex thing again! The BB is like spaghetti.

 

I have more mechanical sympathy than to do that but I have a video of Clay Reggazoni hammering the hell out of a Daytona and it seems none the worse for the experience (but maybe they totally rebuilt it after the video was made )

I've read many stories about the older V12 ferraris having weak clutches and drivetrains but then I've read some horror stories about Lambo Miuras as well

definitely not, Ferrari have always built better, stronger engines than Lambo.

The 4 litre Lambo 12's are the best regarded, but they're still flakey compared to any 365 Ferrari.

 

This is THE book on the BB engine. I don't think it shares anything with the F1 engine, book suggests it was basically derived from the Daytona engine and states there is no relationship to F1 engine (see last sentence)

the Miura has the gearbox in the sump, like a Mini, its a shocker. LP400 has a very substantial gearbox - that's one reason why the shift action is so heavy.

 

but a daytona is a tall V12 a BB is a "flat V12".........the only similarities would be made in the same factory. The BB probably couldnt have a bent 12 in it, but then the muira and coutach have bent 12's.......I dunno, maybe it was ferrari just being experimental or thinking if porsche and VW could have flat engines, why dont we do it as well.


still doesnt explain a straight edge on my TR

 

and they share the same oil.......which is real smart considering a bit of metal from the gear box gets into the engine......wtf

 

did the clutch on my TR......not difficult or expensive, but its not the best clutch I've ever seen nor the strongest

 

thats because your front spoiler is holding the car at an angle

 

is it my eyesight but the picture shows the right side higher than the left

 

given I have done an engine in the urraco and in comparison to a ferrari V8......the ferrari is a better donk


except in the 360 where the head bolts stretch
