    the engine in the m1 was the same as a few other bmw engines (E24 BMW M6/M635CSi and E28 BMW M5) so they don't necessarily need to be an m1 expert...

    Correct- a good independant that knows early M5 motors would be the best route to go. Phil- you should post this request in the florida region section of F-Chat- I posted in the region area to find a recomended PPI mechanic when buying my 360 from across the country...
