http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/formula_one/15024539.stm I like him but Im no longer a fan. If he comes back. Whatever. He had his shot, got his title and lost interest. Please lets get some new talent in the seats at Williams and not Kimi.
Interesting...but why williams? It's a failing team (quickly), barely staying in Q2 at times. Why not Renault?
Having read the article... I think this is being spread by Williams, wanting to keep Barrichello but not at his current price...
I do not understand this from either the Williams side or Kimis side. Williams is not a competitive team and seems to not be moving up any time soon and Kimi has been out of Formula 1 for 2 years and was out performed by Massa his last 2 years at Ferrari? Am I missing something?
Why not? Kimi proved he can win in s sh!tty car (Spa 2009), and he just couldn't care less. He might have lost motivation, who knows, maybe he's hungry now. Rubens can't win a good car, and he's always complaining about the team in public.
At least with Kimi you'll never hear him criticise the team! (that's not to say he doesn't do it, you'll just never hear him! )
Because Renault always blames the drivers for everything. Someone else comes with a bigger cash bag, and for you know, Kimi will be left out of the team. Renault are an unethical team, and i hope they do badly for the rest of the season.
I'll be surprised if this happens, Kimi wants to win races and championships, what chance has he got with Williams? And I don't think Kimi is the car developing type.
No I know but I remember watching an interview with him in 2009 when he was asked if he would do what Barrichello has done and race for the sake of racing and he said no. So I don't understand why he would go to Williams.
Very interesting it seems a bit far-fetched but it makes a bit of sense each of them have nothing to lose and should be highly motivated for success
This will probably come back to haunt me, but I'm gonna stick my neck out and say there's *zero* chance of this happening.... - I don't believe Kimi's interested and/or motivated. - Sir Frank won't pay what he'd want - While I'm no Mansell fan, money, or lack thereof, was the main reason he walked after winning the WDC. Cheers, Ian
I will go with you on that Ian, however it is not doing any harm to Frank @ co, the fact it is being discussed.
Yea. He seems to be trying racing in other series. If i were him, take a pay cut, and who knows..give it a shot. He has nothing to lose.
If he returned, it would make sense for him to come to a lower team, where he will crush his team mate while getting back into the swing of things. Michael could have done the same. If he had come back to a (even) lower team, he would have looked impressive last season and not gone through all the "Oh he is too old, he has lost it" stuff. He is showing much better this season. I think for Kimi's personality, coming back and looking impressive early will be important. Renault would have been a bit better if Kubica does not come back, but the Williams can get to Q3 and that will be all he needs. ...not that I think he is coming back.
really hope this is finally true. i just hope williams can be competitive next year and get him fighting near the front of the grid. Couple a driver like Kimi with the right engineers and it can be done.
