why doesn't Indycar just go ahead and admit that yes, Barnhart is in fact a circus clown?

    Because IndyCar can't afford a $30K fine. :D

Seems fair to me. As a driver you are definitely a representative of the larger organization and such comments bring disrepute. There are smart ways to criticize and there are dumb ways that cost you $30k.

    That's BS.

Now, if someone threatened another with bodily harm, I would agree with it, but calling someone 'names'?

Maybe he should have said 'He belongs in Ringling Brothers and Barnhart and Bailey'...

PS - HCN is right - that clown doesn't enforce across the board at all.

Think about it like this: what if he were badmouthing Roger Penske? What if he were badmouthing Shell or another major sponsor? He wouldn't be fined, he'd be parked. It's no different. You can't badmouth the leadership of the series you're in, you just can't.

You are not comparing apples to apples, we are not talking a sponsor such as Shell or any sponsors, we are talking about a clown that isn't consistent in anything, and if Roger Penske was the race director and he made screwed up calls, he'd be called out also.

There is a word for people that call out sponsors, and that word is 'unemployed'.

Maybe they're worried about ruffling the rodeo clown's feathers.

Helio is allowed to do "community service" for IndyCar to work off his fine.

After all, he needs to save money to spend on clothes so he doesn't chafe his nek'd fanny on that tire swing. ;)

Fawking rediculous imho and no wonder Indycar is a hollow shell of what was once a great series. If Helio has dual citizenship then dumb*** Barnhart is infringing upon Helio's 1st Amendment rights and even if Helio does not have dual citizenship does BB think he is above constructive criticism???

Since this is a family forum I will not express the rest of my opinion on this topic.
