1993 348 Serie Speciale Price check

Four questions come to mind:

Any known mechanical issues, even small ones?
How recent is the major?
Does it have the SS seats?
Any modifications?

I think that info will help nail down a price range! Off the cuff, I'd say mid 40's assuming very good mechanical condition and today's market. IMO, of course.

 

I am actually having mine appraised tomorrow (for insurance purposes), I will let you know what the appraiser rates it at.

I would think a 93SS in good condition with a fairly recent major should be high 40's.

No lip spoiler. No CF seats. Can't see the tail lights. You sure this is an SS?

If it's a decent car it will probably bring in a bit more than a normal '93 TS. I would suggest you add the spoiler - it's a Ferrari part - to give the outward appearance of an SS. Also, I am not a fan of the chrome wheels. Can you get 355 or 360 wheels? These would add value. Those 348 wheels are so hard to fit with decent tires, plus the 355's and 360's improve handling.

Just some thoughts.

 

Ah, there she is! What kind of plate it that? Can you adjust your tail pipes please, they are hanging a bit low.

 

Car looks familiar....Is that #98 from Illinois?

 

No lip, no CF seats. To me, those two things and the rear lights are what MAKE it stand out as an SS. IMO, Retail would be low 40's for this car.

 

Carbon seats are key...

 

I have a 94 348 SS, all original, with an extra set of 360 wheels and tires. Purchased this spring for $46k and then I had the Major Service done. Just won a Platinum at the NJ Fall Concourse. I'd say yours should be in the low $40s maybe more with stock or 360 wheels.
Knowing what it needs through a PPI or Major Service would help. I put $10k into a Major and some other items.

Just saying the carbon seats (to me) are one of the best attributes of an SS, comfortable or not.

It depends on the size of your rear end. I'm 5'8" 190 lbs & I'm fairly comfortable in the seats. CF seats & the rear lights are why people want an SS.

 

I love mine, and I agree comfort is for Buicks ZERO lumbar support, though. I've considered re-bolstering them a little in that area if I end up doing my complete interior overhaul.

...And OP, you have to check what date the service was done on your car? That's like not knowing your birthday!!

Just playing with ya That is most likely going to be a BIG thing for a potential buyer as far as price is concerned, though.

 

I'm 6'2", 260 and find my seat as comfortable as can be. My problem is that the seat does not go back far enough causing me to slouch a bit. That's when the lumbar support becomes an issue. When the roof is off, I love the seats as they hold my fat ass in place quite nicely out at the track. I think a long distance road trip with the roof on would be a big problem.

 

i wouldnt spend the money on 360 rims - its incorrect anyway -

sell it as it is , and dont touch the car, adding anything will just be money wasted.

Nice color combo, the lack of seats , the front lip will hurt its overall sale to a pure enthusiants that wants the ss

40 is a good number - given the economy - its pretty down right criminal when you think about it. But im afraid, going into winter, a slow economy, and lots of toys for sale on the market - 40 even, would be a good sale if you can get it. i still think thats low -
