This is a test. A poll with names.

Provided I could find all the formulas with the proper name, I might venture to make repro sets of all the colors that were available from '68 (?) to '75(?).
Also, I would need that someone knowledgeable, provide me with dimensions and proper material to spray the paint onto.
I would also need a nice scan of an original cover to include with it.

I think it would be a cool item to have. You tell me.

I have been trying to find a sampler, but virtually impossible and/or in the hundreds$.

Is anybody interested? If we can get enough, it might be worthwhile.

    Regards, Alberto

Lets see.....'77 22641 is an old Dino color, Azzuro Metallica

'76 20405 wants to be Rossa Rubino this time around.
I'm shooting an '83 Pininfarina Spyder to match it..

'77 22127 is Fly Yellow, but if you want to try out the latest three stage Yellow Pearl clearcoat, go ahead!!

So all three of mine are colors used originally on the Dino...:D :D

Hats off to your project tho.....

Thanks Tex, I think it would be a cool item to have, and not for the ridiculous $$$ on e-bay. Not convinced about the Harlequin look?
The Spyder's going to look great.

    Regards, Alberto

Just a thought, you never know, "Excuse me Miss, what color do you prefer on my car?"

I would be interested. There are two people I know who have a full set that might loan it out. Tom S. and Shawn S.

    Hello Tom.............or Shawn..............

What I really need, is a list of colors with their code.
A scan of the cover would be great.

So far that makes it 4. I am guessing at least 20-25 potential enthusiasts.

    Thanks Jon.

    Alberto, I would be interested.
I am convinced that you would need to borrow one original set for reference, though. In a perfect world, you should be able to do it just with the code numbers. But this world is not perfect. Far from it.

I'm confused...I've seen Dino specific color sampler(s). This one appears to be the Ferrari sampler which has a lot more colors.

Thank you Jon for the great photo. 39 colors, ok.
Is it specific for the Dino? Years?
    Are they cardstock?

I only see one Giallo Fly, 190 or 240?
    There should be two.

We are moving along. Thank you all for the feedback. let's see where this goes.

    Regards, Alberto

These colors were specific for the Dino. The cover is cardstock and the colors are a thinner material with the name and code on the back. I had borrowed this from Tom S. The yellow here is the later version. I believe the other yellow was for 206, but I could be wrong on that. In the color section I have pictures of Dino's in almost every color. I never could find one in Prugna and a few others.

    Ron, Great sampler!

Now I am confused as on what we want. The one from OMG Jon, or Ron's.
Ron, please scan the front cover and please send me dims.

Does Jon's say 'Dino' on it?

    Regards, Alberto

I ***wish*** this was mine to scan. I saw one in Monterey back in August in this kind of condition, but the asking price was well over $1,000 (USD, not whatever currency is used in El Salvador).

No, Jon's does not say Dino which is why I posted my question...of course his might be the all inclusive set of colors.

The difference is the cover colors. The yellow covered book was the dealer rerence book, hence the extra colors. Smaller sample #'4 are in the white covered books. There are different #'s of samples and different colors in various versions. The white covered books were used for customer ordering vs dealer ordering as best as I understand.

    OK Ron, US$ here also.

Your cover photo is plenty good to make a good cover lookalike.
Sent all the paint codes from Jon's resto site, kindly remembered by Pooh-Baugh, to the friendly paint store. They have to reply with the minimum amounts of paint I must purchase and their capability of mixing the proper formulas.

It would appear 6 takers + 1 for me.

    Will let you know.

    Jon:

Does your version have Dino Rosso in it? I think I see it in the one HMB posted, but I don't quite see it in yours. How about Verde Germoglio? I am believe that these two colors were Dino only colors.

Given that the Dino was supposed to be a separate line, perhaps they made a Dino specific one (and this would make some sense if they were truly trying to differentiate the Dino brand).

They didn't make a Full color set specific for the Dino. The smaller sets aren't Dino specific either. The 308 GT4 did have a specific color book.
