so - was my question really THAT stupid. Excuse me for that, but i did not follow the thread in detail. needless to say i am not a 288 specialist. i only once had a good time driving one - but that is exactly one more that most f-chatters have.

Humor. I was just being funny, hence :) but I can see that escaped you.

Plus a little bit of discretion. Since I know the owner is right here, and a client of mine, and a man of considerable discretion, I would never post without his express permission to go ahead & do do. Especially when I note that he commented, and yet still did not post it. But that's just me. All is well though, as I can see that you have what you need.

    Best,

    Hello Joe,

Sorry if I missed it, but weren't you writing a book on the GTO? Or was it the F40? Thanks, Peter

Can the 288’s cam belts be changed without taking the engine out? Are they changeable via the service hatch in the bulkhead?

Why are you so worked up about copyright on an image that probably looks like 1000 others from the same day?

Marcel has a lot of vintage Ferrari historical images that are copyrighted and the big-caps copyright declaration is standard for all of his images FWIW. There is no angst in the use of big caps regarding this particular image. Hope that explains it...

Did Lorenz and Rankl ever chop (ruin) a 288 GTO?

I’ve seen 512BB, 308, Testerossa and 412i convertible’s by them. The 512BB looked ok hood down, the rest were not to my liking at all.

Is there a very choice, low mileage GTO for sale--as well as an F-50

I am looking for the best out there.

I know they are scarce & expensive.

    Not a problem.

Because it's his... he has the right to declare a copyright on it - simple as that.

No other argument, judgements based on aesthetics, or debate about whether it's similar to other shots or not is necessary.
