    I have a 2004 Commemorative Edition C5. At 29,000 miles, about a month ago, I noticed on the first start that my oil pressure was taking longer to show on the gauge than normal. At the time, my Testarossa was in for it's "big service" as Fast Cars Inc. in Redondo Beach. Joe at Fast Cars has my same car and told me he had a similar problem which went away after he changed the oil. I changed my oil and no cure. I towed it to a guy that builds race cars in Orange County. They pulled the pan and I was lucky, no metal shavings or engine damage. They pulled the front of the engine apart where the oil pump is located. It wasn't the pump. There is an o-ring between the pick up tube and the pump that tends to deteriorate over time I guess. A week later the same thing happened to a friends 2008 C6 with only 17,000 miles. He was out of warranty as well. (He's not laughing at me now!) He got stung for a couple grand at his local "Government Motors Chevy Dealer" who replaced his pump with a new factory pump. I put a Mellings High Volume pump on mine which over the years has been a great pump in other Vettes I have had. We heard while all this was going on that one of the race car customers blew up a brand new Camaro, 2 weeks old when his pump failed. Watch your gauges on cold starts! It wasn't cheap unless compared to a TR "big service".

    Have you ever heard of vector or dasmopar? Vector is one of my best friends and I also know das. Vector's wife 1fstchk IIRC had one of the first big turbocars in the country.

    Hi all, stumbled back here after registering some number of years ago to view some photos a friend had posted. Will admit my automotive interest has mostly been toward cars the nature of which are the subject of this thread, but that has changed in recent years to cars which are designed to turn corners. My list includes the C4 Corvette ZR-1, 1st gen Viper coupe and perhaps a GT40 continuation. I've just scanned this entire thread and enjoyed the variety of stuff posted, especially appreciate the before/after pics. My current project (long term lol) is a '70 Superbee. This car was pretty rough, worst was poorly done accident repair from a light hit in the passenger side door. The floor and rocker were porta-powered and sledge hammered back into shape and the car probably was driven a long time afterwards, but I could not leave it that way so set out to replace the previous repair with straight original pieces I got from local wrecking yards. The car was a lot of work to but probably worth saving because it is an original 6-Pack Superbee. Here's a couple shots showing where I was at one time with the floor removed and a replacement rocker in position, to the latest shot I have with the car finally coming together. Still a ton to do but give me another year.

    1988 Pontiac FIERO with 1996 Cadillac Eldorado NORTHSTAR 32v V8. This was my daily driver for several years. I wanted a Ferrari 308, but it would not be a good idea to park it downtown in a parking garage. So, I opted for this instead, I figured no one would pay any attention to it parked downtown. By the way, I finally got my 308.
