Button beating Ham is the only wake up call Ham needs IMO.
His move at the start wasn't that of someone out just for points. No doubt he turned down the wick later on but there's no way to know how much. Korea may provide some answers.
The season is over. It will be interesting to see the teams just try to build points now while the drivers try to prove themselves. It may actually be a better show now.
It's official now. But this season's been over for a while. I wont be too surprised if RB are winless. The others may have caught up at last.
Maybe they have caught up because Newey is not letting the 2012 cat out of the bag: If they show their improvements now the competition will copy them. Instead they will bring their new stuff to the opening race next year.
If there is still a record left to be broken, Vettel will go for it. Sure he will be looking at breaking nigel mansell's pole record.
It's in his nature to do so but I'm not sure that the team will continue to improve this year's car enough.
Today, yes, that's true. I think Steve is saying that being beaten by Jensen this season (consistently over the last 7-8 races) is all the "wake up" call Lewis needs to understand that he needs to work at being a great racer, not just a fast one. Having Hollywood types and 'yes' people surrounding you may cause you to think you can sleep your way to wins. Being beaten by Jensen will let him know that he wasn't the best driver in an equal car, much less competing against RBR. This year will go a long way towards making Hamilton a more effective driver in the future.
+1. It's all over. Maybe this shows that molding the career (providing the best car) of a child from the age of 11 all the way into a F1 car does not give the backbone required of a top athlete, ie. how to work hard and make successes out of bad situations. There is a heck of a lot more to it than just hammering your car around the circuit as fast as you can. A waste of a talent, miss-management from such a young age by his father and Ron Dennis. Pete
What a fantastic race, well deserved win by Button, although I think if Alonso had maybe 2 laps more he might have won the race... Alonso also a very nice race, not too much drama. Vettel doing the inevitable, winning his 2nd WDC. All he had to do was cruise to the finish, a podium would have been nice so there he went and did it. Hamilton and Massa crashing into each other again, surprise surprise. What's the bet it'll happen again at the next race? Schumacher another well driven race on a car eating the front tires.
You guys are kidding, right? It's all over?? REALLY??? You do realize he's, what, 24 or 25? Lewis will be better for this year. If anything, he did behave in a very entitled fashion (i.e. he's destined to win every race) and he'll learn to respect that there are 23 other guys who feel the same way as he. His biggest opportunity is giving and gaining the respect of those guys. I think he'll be fine.
Disagree...as soon as Jensen felt some heat, he started hammering out fastest sectors. As always, Jensen only gives what's necessary to maximize his results.

Not at all. It may be over for the fans (?) but for the teams they still need to keep their head in the game. Points = $$$, and it's zero sum.
Why does he continue to make the same mistakes over and over then? Sure, it happens once or twice for every driver, but not consecutively over every race almost. What makes you believe he'll all of a sudden learn from all of his mistakes this season next year?
His head simply isn't there, look at qualy, he was so focussed on his own position he forgot to make sure he knew whe everyone else was, either that or he was so arrogant he figured no one would dare challenge him if he screwed their hot lap whilst preparing for his, either way he needs to take stock of where he is right now, because if he doesn't, he is in trouble The funniest thing maclaren could do now is a driver swap for a season with someone like diresta, and make Lewis go the other way, like in football when the send young prospects to lower divisions for experience. That way he will have to learn how to measure his races and performance with no chance of winning..... Might make or break him
Correct, I thank you. Ham will be the better driver for it I cannot believe the fickle nature of F1 fans. Pete, I hate to bring this up but you said the same thing about Button, and look at him now.
