I have a 1994 348 TS SS and I understand that it is one of the 15 built in 1994. I was told it is #6 of 15 with serial #98737. There is no number plate saying #6 of 15 like the SS series of 100 cars had. Can anyone enlighten me or point me to info? Also the Ferrari Market Letter seems to list that there were 80 SS 348s made in 1992 and 1993. If there is any archived info on this subject please point me to it. Mike Reading, PA
We go through this over and over. 100 cars, 12 1992 88 1993. Series II cars 15 in 1994. No CF seats in the 1994's. Pretty much eveything the same in terms of SS package. Lip spoiler, rear lights, single can muffler, wider rear wheels, change in gear ratio (but I think all 1994's had this by then).
Is there any way to verify the 15 SS's of 94, like you can the 92/93 models re the identifier plate? The VIN code doesn't specifically differentiate the SS but the chassis number will identify each of the 15. Is there a registry confirming that? How does one confirm it's a legit 94 SS?
Thanks for the info. I was wondering why my 94 didn't have the Kevlar Seats. Although the original Window Sticker lists "Kevlar Seats" I have photos of the car at nearly new and it doesn't have the Kevlar Seats. It would be nice to have something official to see the serial number listed as an SS # 6 of 15, even though I know it is.
