    :)

Problem there is, it only works when only one of 'em does the parade lap.... The moment two of 'em go out...... it gets complicated...... ;)

    Cheers,
    Ian

:D Godamnit! This time, my bloody mary hit the damn keyboard!..... :)

I'd never heard them referred to as a "gaggle" - *Perfect*, thankyou! :)

    Seriously, given that it's likely to happen soon, here's the rule;

    Rule 36.2.b

    Cheers,
    Ian

We're all moved by that one.

And some folks find no joy in F1 these days :)

Alonso's race pace is so much better than Massa's. My prediction: Alonso is going to finish third, ahead of one Mclaren and one Red Bull, while Massa will finish 8th.

It all depends on the tyres but I fear you're going to be disappointed!.

Both the McLarens and the Red Bulls have too much speed for the Ferrari this weekend and Alonso starts on the dirty side of the track so may well end up behind Rosberg when the lights go out. My monies on a 5th for Alonso (unless Webber switches off again, then it'll be 4th), and 7th for Massa.

The McLaren and RB are light years ahead of the Ferrari's pace.

I'm not seeing any "light years" there. The top 5 are within a second, and were spawned by 3 different organizations..... :)

    Cheers,
    Ian

Ian, the 1s between McLaren and Ferrari is a big gap.

A gap that will grow as Ferari is now concentrating on 012.

That shouldn't make any difference. McLaren and Ferrari are in the same boat vs. RB.

Yesterday Stefano said Ferrari didn't understand the blown diffuser very well this season. Maybe they're in an ok position for 2012.

Until the WCC is sown up they'll be more focused on this season than Ferrari will.
In any case there's little point for Ferrari to develope this years car which was never really in the hunt. Alonso carried it to what little success it had.

It's been next to impossible for McLaren to take the WCC for a while. But next year's rules are nearly the same as this year's anyway and Ferrari is still bringing updates. Alonso has a new front wing.

Word is that the wing is part of the 012 package.
The rules may be similar but let's hope next year's design isn't.

Front (especially) and rear wings tend to be evolutionarily relevant even with major design changes. Take for example McLaren's current basic front wing design that was introduced midseason last year vs. the major design leap this year. They too have been bringing 2012 bits since at least Suzuka.
