Silver Subscribed has become the new active OT forum with 30+ active threads a day, a Backroom subforum was needed there, so we decided just to move the Backroom that was public here to Silver.

I recall that one of the "upsides" to *OTT > Backroom Lounge* was how *Backroom Lounge* threads wouldn't display on Recent Results.

This appeased those who did not "need/want" to see our brand of sophomoric humor.

Will that be the case with the new *Silver > Backroom Lounge* setup?

at what point do you just remove the non-subscribed OOT section?

OOT is the "silver" of non-subscribed members... where else can all the silly
threads and such go for those who choose not to subscribe? I think it ought
    to stay.

actually it's the other way around...silver used to be much better and has devolved into OOT. and this subforum doesn't get the use that other non-subscribed sections get, at least to this casual observer.

With BRL moved, I think the threads that appropriately went into OOT/BRL will likely get chopped going forward or moved to Silver/BRL (i.e. Bikini threads, counting threads, etc). However, there are still legit off-topic threads that are of interest to non-subscribed users or subscribed users that want all user input.

Sounds great. Until I subscribe I now won't be tempted to click the Rear Ends thread while at work...

That was my point exactly. Thanks for making it more clear. There are indeed
lots of suitable OOT topics for those not subscribed.

I just ran a quick test, Silver/BRL does not add to post count, but it does show in "New Posts".

no it isn't, same expectations we had in OOT BRL or Silver before. there will be higher standards of quality in the main Silver and Rossa forums now though.

I still have option set for BRL that it shouldn't index posts in search engine or new posts, but if your test is correct I believe it is inheriting that behavior from its new parent. :(

    Yes, it is now inherited.

Concern *then* was to not lose Any Members who didn't want to see BR Headlines on Front Page.

Concern *now* is losing Subscribed Members who don't want to see BR Headlines on Front Page.

Perhaps since BRL is now part of paid Silver, post counts can be turned back on...
I think a big part of the reason OOT dropped so dramatically out of favor was
the no post count thing - which makes sense in a non-subscribed forum - at
that time, it was one of the incentives to up to Silver IIRC.

Really? Post counts are the driver? I thought it mattered more to post in the appropriate forum instead. Learning something new everyday... :)

It's time to Occupy Fchat and demand a tax on Pap's post count.

Maybe you weren't watching.... when post counts were taken out of OOT/BRL
within just a few months activity there dropped off significantly, and a fair
number of users upped to Silver.

Like it or not, that's how it worked out. Silver very much became the new
OOT because posts counted there. Prior to the change, Silver was fairly quiet
and OOT was booming. Now it's the other way 'round.

Honestly, leveraging forums to maximize post counts is/was the furthest from my mind. Never occurred to me until you mentioned it although I was aware of the change, previously.

There are so many reasons to be a subscriber here at FerrariChat, now's there's another.
