Well, it IS a "purpose built Track Facility"....... Probably have to plow a new one, every year....(???) I'm thinking it's a "high end" alternative to my normal Rent a car antics, and I am usually trying to stay ON the road! The Winter Park Sheriff was very helpful that night, he took a look at my off road furrows and said: "Just follow me on in to town.." and I did. It was the LAST time I follow one of those squiggly lines, it only LOOKED like a short cut... The rest of it is all due to the night rates at Little Nell.... We see the FF this evening, here.
Don't know off hand if the ones at our house there are Frette but they seem fine to me and over the 50 years I've been going there I've found the best car to have in the winter in Aspen is a Rental.
Porsche has been doing a winter driving experience for many years, cost is about $5K. It's apparently popular enough that they keep it up every year and have multiple sites (Finland & Canada, also previously in Colorado). http://www.porsche.com/international/motorsportandevents/porsche-driving-experience-winter Ferrari appears to be taking a leaf out of their playbook, but at (the usual) 2-3x the cost of Porsche.
Buick Regal Turbo?? That might be fun!!! Wonder how much they charge someone to ride in the back seat of the FF??? PDG
Here's the thing. I could see paying something (Not 5K) for a couple of days of instruction in an off roader in Moab,UT but an FF in Aspen seems silly. Is there anyone here who is interested in paying 11.3K for this?
If anything, this makes more sense to me than the track day thing: plenty of HPDE events to go learn your car besides their events. Where else would you safely get to push an FF on snow? I could be tempted to go learn the foul-weather limits of the car using theirs, not mine.
I will pass on this and drive my 360 instead (on dry roads of course). We get lots of Europeans and south Americans in the winter. Maybe this is who they are getting to do this. By the way the Nell has just been remodeled and is very nice.
I'm thinking of shipping this out for the Season. Maybe somone in an FF would like to drive to Ashcroft with me... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Heck, I'd drive past Winter Park and Keystone, for a ride in THAT!!!! I rip up Keystone at night under the lights.....a double shift on the day. Downside is, not much help around should you need it. It was really already in my mind, that FoH should put a demonstrater into service as a rental, for the ski season. Not that many people drive it from here, though.
Sounds like a two day advertisement for them to sell their product, like a Time-share ad. Shouldn't they be paying you $11K for your time?
I find the best car to have there is NO car. Walk everywhere! I wonder if their track is the Woody Creek Raceway? Or just a field they plow into a purpose built track?
I love that it's an extra $950 for a GUEST. Gee thanks, how generous. I could see, maybe hitting it big in Vegas some weekend, jetting down to aspen...at that point what's another $12k to fool around in an FF? Making memories after all
I wonder if the FF they use will spit oil from the exhaust because the one I saw at FOCF did. Left a huge puddle of oil right on the dealership floor after they fired it up.
Jim that looks like fun off road in the mud! I thought they were kidding for 2 days. You'd think they might at least comp some lift tickets with that.. ;-) I was wondering myself where the track will be. On top of AJAX might be interesting.. Highlands would definitely sell me.
