So the day begins just great... Wife is on vacation with the girls, Kids get on the bus no problem, take care of some paperwork, all the days chores done so time for a drive....
Go to the dealer to arrange lunch for them this Thursday and I leave the dealer (Continental Autosports)... So I am then cruising down Ogden Ave and get near the I355 ramp when I see a low bright white car coming the opposite direction. I see the sticker on the window and realize it's a new Lambo Aventador..... He passes and we exchange glances. I keep driving realizing he was on a test drive from Fox Vally Motors which was just a few miles further up the road. I decide to pull in there and look around as I haven't been there in a while.... After talking to the owner for the next 15 minutes and showing him my car (he wanted to see it) in pulls the Aventador.... Next thing ya know the owner is telling me to take it for a spin... I do one of the "naw, I can't, blah, blah, blah..." 30 seconds later, sure, let's go... We take her for a spin and WoW, what a kick.. (I'll try and write more about it later)....

So I finally return the Aventador and say my goodbyes.. No sooner am I 3 mile down the road and my left side gauge says Limited driving performance. 10 seconds later it reads Engine system failure GO TO DEALER. Enough said, I turn around, feel the car bawping more so 25 miles an hour it is for the next 5 miles. Service guys bring it straight back, plug in their flux capacitor and 10 minutes later tell me the fuel pressure injector or switch or sensor is failed and the left bank of pistons isn't getting fuel. Not something they can fix in 5 minutes... So bottom line is my 380 mile car is in the shop and I have 5 days off before heading out of town for 8 days. Dealer hopes to have the info on the car uploaded and evaluated by Ferrari tomorrow and if it turns out to be a simple switch or sensor then no problem and I will be back on the road Wednesday.... Something tells me I might as well just leave for my business trip early and try and forget about it....

Well what was it?? The Car going Christine on me after my brief affair w the Aventador or did Lambo sabotage the car or was it just bad luck and I will be one of the whining posters talking about their lemon of a car... Either way I have learned patience and I am still just grateful to be in the position I am....

    Tony......................

Two things I'd love to hear more about.
1-The Flux capacitor, was there a Mister Fusion as well?
    2-The Aventador drive

Hope your car gets fixed soon.

I think your Ferrari was upset you were 'flirting' with a potential mistress.
Seriously - probably a simple coincidence. At least dealer was able to check it out.
    Best wishes.

Absolutely this is the case. It's no different then if you were spending time with another gal, then came home, and your wife could smell her perfume on you ---- you're gonna get a "reprisal" :)

Your 458 "smelled" that Lambo stench on you, and she "smacked" 'ya :)

Incidentally, what was happening with your car (458) while you were driving the Aventador? Did anyone at Fox drive it, or move it, or anything? Any chance that something could have happened to it while you were out joy riding with the slut (aka, the Lambo ;)) ?

My car did seem to walk a little funny after I left her there... The middle tailpipe seemed a bit larger than I previously remembered... But in seriousness, the car sat there locked and unscathed...

    LOL

And, I was being facetious, of course! I know all the guys at Fox quite well --- they take care of my Esprit for me. No one there would ever do anything bad to your (or anyone else's) car. :)

It was the Ferrari gods smiting you for your betrayal. Joke :D

Aventador must of been awesome, hope your car gets fixed, maybe a coincidence, don't think anyone would of done it on purpose.

Unless you had to take it to that exact dealer to pay for it to get fixed, which is unlikely since it's Lambo.

This is the kind of little nagging problem that drives me crazy with Ferrari - have had similar sensors, etc. go bad with F cars, never an electronic glitch in any of my Porsche's or Toyota's. Guess it's the Italian thing.

    No quite Andy, not quite.

Honestly though I've heard people complain about sensors/gearboxes/engines in their VW GTI's, EVOs or STi's, Nissan GTRs, Audi anything, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Corvette. Mclaren has had to bring all their cars in because of sensors. It's just the characteristics of the modern car with all of the computers and sensors

Not quite Tifosi15,nothing wrong with the sensors ,its the mapping controlling them, making them too sensitive,as you know that re-mapping is underway, when its complete in a few days thats when we will find if the sensors are all working correctly!!!!!,although after 1500 miles ive had plenty of sensor warnings ,but no problems.Actually the cars havent been brought in for the sensors, there is no point untill the re-map is complete. The irony of it is if this was a stripped out car with none of the luxuries then the only problem would have be the door opening, which was sorted in a few days.
Anyway i still hope everthing is Ok with the posters car
p.s. im not a windup merchant, prefer to build bridges, and as fellow petrolheads i think its important for you guys to hear it from the horses mouth, and not the press who like to embelish everyones woes

I'll apologize now, I think I came across a little peckish in my response, that was not my intention

I think you confirmed my statement. ;)

Glad to hear you are enjoying your 12C, you picked my favorite color for it :)

Hope the OP gets his problems sorted easily as others have

Seems it was a simple loose connector with a fuel pressure/injector/thingy and the car is fixed... I am not mechanically inclined so don't push too hard to have me say what it is until I pick the car up... As far as I am concerned it's the darn Flux Capacitor gone haywire. They are test driving it in the AM then running it through the computers again so if all goes as planned I'll have the car tomorrow provided the run isn't too bad.....

Reason enough to consider that dealer in the future. I always want to deal with those that treat potential customers well!!
