Being informed by my dealer that there will be 599 light-weight version added in the current model line next year. The replacement of 599 will probably be another 2 years, as Maranello wanna focus on Ferrari FF instead. Anyone heard about this?

P.S. This might be a good news since it means we would see the beautiful line of 599 alives for a while :)

Tell your dealer: rubbish! Saw the new car last week.

The last of the great 599s will be the GTO for the road and the 599 XX Evo for the track...

Your dealer has wrong information. The replacement of 599 will appear next year.

Now that's a classic tease! You can't say you saw the new car and leave it at that!!! What did it look like???! Beautiful or aggressive? Longer or shorter? Wider or slimmer? Better or worse (looks)?

Maybe the 599 Alonso Edition will be white; just like his 458?

8C was the design Ferrari should have had all along -- good news, IMHO.

That's great news indeed. 599 way too large for what it is.

Consider that a BMW Z4 M Coupe has the same packaging as 599 (straight 6 vs V12), more luggage space and the whole car is considerably smaller. 8C is maginificent (handles like sh*t apparently)

    Music to my ears :)

The 8C has perfect dimensions...not to mention that it's terribly pretty.

If they manage to to do relatively small front-engined V12 (like Aston did with the V12 Vantage) they would have a winner IMO.

Actually, only Jeremy Clarkson said that an 8C handled badly.

I have one (and a bunch of Ferrari as comparison) and the 8C is a raw car. It handles but you need to really be in charge. It won't coddle you the way a 430 or 458 will. It is also a short wheelbase so it is lively especially when driven flat out. But it really goes. Have had 300 km/h (on the GPS) out of mine with real concentration!!!

A very gratifying car to drive!

Peter- I infer from your words the 599's replacement will be smaller than the Fiorano.
    Would that be correct?

I would like to know it too.

I think he was referring to the styling more than to the size.

Considering the mule we saw, the replacement will probably have the same size as the 599...

:) I'm sure plenty of people will be surprised when they see the XX Evo. I know I was, in a very positive way I have to say ;)

Such a great looking car. If the new 599 will be the result of the present 599 making babies with the 8C, I will probably fall in love with it.
