    Hi Guys
I live in South Africa and own one of only 4 Anniversary models and the only red one in the country (see attached). I have reconditioned the OEM clutch several times but the clutch facing is too soft and wears out quickly. From the info earlier on this thread I gathered that a Kevlar facing is the best choice. Has any one fitted a Carbon Fibre job from Al Bartoni or heard any good/bad about his clutch assemblies and is he still in business?

I will highly encourage every owner to go out of their way to make it to at least one large exotic event WITH their car. Owning the car is awsome and can be compared to an analogy of flooding a childhood dream, while participating in an event like that is an off the chart tsunami! (in a good way!)

Preparations are in the infancy stages for the 2012 Ferrari and Friends / Make a Wish Concorso in Farmington, CT. Details are starting to be discussed. It's looking like the weekend AFTER Father's Day in June this year. Our own Peter K. is organizing the Lambo group, contact him for info. (again everything is verbal at this point.)

Every serious car enthousiast knows these facts ... The Countach handling was very well reputed ...

IOW, you know what you are talking about!

So the Countach wasn't only a gorgeous and spectacular car but also a first class performer ( at its time ) ...

I am more and more interested to own one Countach in adition of a Diablo ...

    Humm, life is difficult!!!

I thought Burtoni was kind of a hack. Very mixed reputation
he has, right? Seems like many of his "upgrades" have not stood the
    test of time.

It was basically a MSD system with removed stickers.
He then added his V12 Engineering sticker and "changed" the price.

Grimaldi engineering in the UK had my OE clutch re-lined with AP racing material, very reasonable cost for basically a total clutch pressure plate rebuild and and re-surface of the friction plate.

While at the 1986 Brussels Auto Salon I took a snapshot of this Countach. Sorry, but I don't know anything else about this car, specifically.

Just wanted to share a great find.

I FINALLY found a place that has the "switchable" mirror switch for our Countach's! This the switch on the drivers door that allows you to adjust either the drivers door or passenger door mirrors. Its the same switch that was used on the Ferrari 512bbi and the '83-'89 Alfa Spiders.

However, this switch has been nearly impossible to find. A lot of places sell a switch, but it only adjusts 1 mirror.

I'm not sure how many this place still has in stock, but they come in an OEM Alfa Romeo box (P/N: 0060519381)

    Price was E74.79 (Euro).

That switch operates exactly the same as the 81/82 Mondial 8. In fact, Ricambi America shows it as a replacement part for the 512BBi at $120.. However, notice that the former comes with an attached wire bundle where as the latter does not.

Did you guys see that ???

    http://www.malgusto.com/velocidad-y-motor/construyendo-un-lamborghini-en-casa/

I am totally puzzled that people would just do things like that !

Whatever you think of the result, and even if *you*, educated petrolhead, think the best car ever is the McLaren F1, *you* can't help but recognize that the Countach is the most influential car of all times in people's imagination.

    Am I right ? :)

It's been discussed before I believe. I can't say whether its right or wrong, but I am impressed and give him credit.
