Just a note to help any future sufferers... I've had my 2002 360 since new and take good care of it so I figure any problem I find is likely to be a common issue.

I had a super-annoying rattle noise coming from the passenger side of the dash, near the airbag or defroster vent.

To fix, I followed the instructions from Volume 2 of the Workshop Manual, section M 3.01, in order to remove the glovebox. Not too difficult but some of those screws were awfully tight.

Remove three phillips-head screws and one 10mm bolt from the upper part of the glovebox (labeled #3 in pic). This requires a stubby, large-headed screwdriver, and a socket/ratchet for the bolt. Then remove the two screws facing you on the left side of the glovebox (#4 in pic). Then, using a 10mm 1/4" drive socket, a 1/4" u-joint, and a lot of extension, remove the four nuts (#5 in pic) below the glovebox (but above the glovebox door). They are a bit difficutl to reach but not that bad. Now slide the glovebox out and unplug the light (push the tab to release the connector).

Once the glovebox was out I just wiggled things around and the culprit was obvious. It was an 8mm bolt with a large washer that was loose. I tightened it up, re-installed the glovebox, and enjoyed rattle-free motoring.

    Hope it helps.
