A lot of guys do it on the GT3 RS when they intend to use the car on the track - it doesn't surprise me that somebody would also do it on a CS. It's a good idea if you're going to track the car extensively.

Unquestionably! (one has to have a very large wallet to track a CS with the CCM's as a hobby)

But then, that's important information for a buyer to know...(that was my real point)

How much track use would it take to get CS CCM's down to 35% left?

Many/several tens of hours is my guesstimate (depends upon the track, the driver and the number of laps/hours spent). F430GT (IIRC) posted a while back in a thread on this topic with some specifics...try a search on CCM or carbon brakes or similiar.

Also, I was told by two dealers that they "must" (whatever that means) replace the CCMs when they show 70%+ usage (so in other words you can't take 'em right up to 100% usage). Kinda like the F1 clutches. They tell me the same thing there.

Done on Porsches because of a couple of reasons. Cost and steel feels better on a track. Much better.

I was "in the area" and stopped by Ferrari of Washington to have a look at this CS. It was outside already, and had some dirt on it, so someone must have recently taken it for a spin.

It's on consignment, and the manager advised that the owner has the OEM CCBs and will include them. He thought they are in good condition (i.e. he didn't think they are shot) but offered no insight into why they had been removed (e.g. worn out vs track vs "story"). The installed rotors are neither drilled nor slotted, and look rather small. Who knows.

The dealer has that car as a certified pre-owned Ferrari so it gets a one year warranty doesnt it?

I know of a black one (no stripe) and two silver ones (one with stripe) that are privately on the market/not advertised anywhere....not counting the black one Ferrari of Seattle just got.

Just re-listed our red one w/stripe on Ebay. Still not showing up on challenge-stradale.com's listing of cars for sale though....?

There are only 4 on cars.com and another 4 on Dupont. (in the US only obviously)

That is by far the lowest number I've seen on those two sources in the past 12 months (and longer I'm told from posters here that have followed this longer than I have). Usually there are 2x or more in total out there compared to the number on those two sites. So, if only 8 there, I'd venture there are double that or thereabouts in total? Maybe stockpro will chime in...

I am serious thinking of selling mine and getting a scud. Although I doubt I could handle the tire-kicking/private sale process. Perhaps a trade-in...

    I've kicked this around also....

My issue is, while a Scud is faster, I already can't take advantage of 50% of what my CS can do because of the traffic around town. What the hell am I going to do with a Scud?

errr, go to the track? I really don't see how you all can have these high performance super cars and not enjoy what it is made for. It's like having a young Michael Jordan's body and only playing HORSE in a drive way. Being on the track is like MJ on an NBA sized court.

I've noticed that, only one on ebay for awhile, now none. Only 3 on Yahoo autos, all creme puffs at $150k ask. Very cool car, but 2x the price of a base 360 with potentially nice mods already and significant premium to F430 signals to me that it's becoming more of a collector's car, not a driver's car, unless someone is fine actually driving a " pricey collectible," and if any car should be driven, it should be the CS! But, 7 years old and under 5k miles tells me they arn't being driven.

I agree. If you were debating CS vs Scud and didn't yet own a Fcar, it's one thing, but going from a CS, dealing with the sale process, paying huge sales tax to get a car that MAY depreciate significantly in the next 2 years, just for some added power/speed that you yourself said you doubt you can use? Sounds like a bad idea to me. The CS has more soul and beauty than the Scud does too, IMHO. Stick with the CS.

These cars are destined to be collector cars. However, not driving it is bad for the car..... AND a waste of the experience. It is too good not to drive. Mine gets driven on the road/track and enjoyed! :)

There is a 250 GTO owner that DD drove the car for years and years....... and guess what, it's still worth $20M+

so if supply is low, are you seeing a corresponding bump in prices or is demand also low and prices flat?

For the record, the CS at FoS is soooo hot in person.
