Well said! And, in any case, it's about the cars, not about having to justify oneself when exercising one's rights. Let's get back to discussion and beautiful photos of one of the most glorious cars ever.

I must be in a very small group because if that GTO was mine the odometer would read 200K by now. I guess thats what set's a collector and driving enthusiast apart.
I would love to own this car...However I bet the owner is selling again as he's figured out that using it will cost him a quarter of a million bucks...I dont know the selling price, but I bet is it over $900k
Lets say you are spot on about it costing the owner $250K in depreciation cost from driving it like it was put on this earth to do but people like that are only in it for investment reason's imho. That is why I respect Joe S. (288 GTO), Jim G.(P4/5) and 512blu (F40) so much, they drive those daym car's like they were meant to be which simply is just driven and enjoyed. Anywho back on topic, when I just see pics of a 288 GTO I still get that certain feeling inside that I had back in the mid '80's when I actually drove next to one (which I believe was one of if not the first in the US) and that feeling will stay with me until my last days. I hope I made some sense there as I have been know to ramble about thing's I am passionate about.
Oh I don't think it will depreciate any the amount these actually get driven. And that's assuming he gets $900k for it.
No preaching intended George just offering my opinion and it seem's you are in that certain category so kudo's to you sir.
......and 414hp measured at the rear wheels is a much bigger increase than 14 hp over stock hp measured @ the engine

Joe Sackey, That's funny. I orded already your book about 2 months ago at a car bookschop in the Netherlans. Today I discover this page. I know a little late. The release date was october 2011 when I ordered the book. I got a mail from the bookshop that the release date for the book is now may 2012. Is that right? Good luck with writing your book Gr. Xander
The UK car at Hairpin has slightly lower mileage. FWIW this car can come back to the USA as it already has EPA & DOT on file.
It was published in 2011, 272 pages (one for every GTO?) and you can write a review here: http://books.google.com/books?id=OfXPQgAACAAJ&dq=ferrari+288+gto&hl=en&ei=jUqfTq-SD9HO-QbZ7-WDDQ&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=2&ved=0CDAQ6AEwAQ (just kidding)
