Anyone here knows anything about the 4200's skyhook suspension? Someone I know wants to replace the whole set cos they are way too stiff around uneven surfaces. Is a norm or are the shocks a goner? Lung, do you know much about them since you had a gransport many many moons ago?
skyhook at least on my qp sport gt is no fun. i think replacing all is a good idea but must figure out how to re-set the suspension ecu i think. i did change the rear skyhook shocks recently and car rides much much better ,tho a bit high.
What did you change them to and where did you get yours? I heard the KW ones bypass the sensors. So does yours have a warning light on at the instrument cluster all the time?
Not that bad bro. Just found one asking for 80 quid, was told that the 512BBi with injection is the one to get for easier maintenance but if I want a more raw experience & better power, 365 is the one which is fine by me since I always wanted a carb car. Besides, should I want to import, it qualifies for the age rather than 512. I'll be back by Nov so we can meet. Damn, for a moment I thought your babe is a human
Yup... I know the skyhook very well. The 3200 and the 4200 had skyhook systems. Spongy... great as a daily driver but not good for track. Get them changed if possible. The Gransport didn't have skyhook if I am not mistaken.
i bought new skyhook rear shocks thru formula dynamics, was tempted to use kw but didnt . anyway even after changing the original skyhook shocks i still get suspension failure warning ! apparently sensor faulty. i nearly bought the kw set ,yes u have to order the sensor bypass/cancellor
Oh boy, I just completed a morning drive with the Malaysia Porsche club. 270km in total & almost 200 of B roads with at least 100 worth of mountain twisties! Absolutely amazing. Unfortunately, I didn't bring my GT3 there & my 996 was on it's toes We went down southeast of KL towards Negeri Sembilan, Kuala Pilah, Kuala Klawang. Got to see some ricefields & many old Malay kampongs with those pitched roofs & that country smell. Woohoo! Here's a video of some bikers on the same route [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7vrl8x-K6ec&feature=related[/ame] Met a whole lot of them there earlier as well. I'll post some pics later, got to catch some sleep now (-_-) Image Unavailable, Please Login
2006 and 2007 599s had HSM Omvs...you know, the low kind! Later ones had 300 to 330k even. Nope. Price kept going up on account of COEs and I couldnt get the spec I want ex-stock or on fast delivery. My mate who took over an earlier unit I found for him, hit 2nd price on his number plate. Paid for his car and then some. # 6116 COE prices also making me keep my family Lexus GS300. Its a great car. Have put down deposit on the new GS350 coming in next year but if the dealer doesnt offer a substantial overtrade, I doubt I will jump
Lucky guy.. Maybe I should start buying 4D the new pagani is nice Didn't know Lexus requires deposit on their new models too
yeah man...10k deposit. On hindsight kind of stupid of me to put deposit but what to do wife likes driving Lexus Buy 500 big/ 500 small...can make enough to buy Pagini if open 1st 2nd or 3rd My friend hit 0828 in sunday's draw. Consolation prize only but still make 105k !
