Their international arm makes a loss. But all the other divisions, esp QFF, make a whole heap. OT, does anyone know the story behind why Ansett folded?
Lets face it, the planes pretty much fly themselves nowadays, it's only people like to know there's some one up front. They can take off, cruise and land on there own. I'm Alan Joyce for a day, **** the pilots and cabin crew off, install vending machines on board. Grab your 6 pack of VB and packets of potato chips as you board yourself and sit down. Imagine the savings.
I flew from HK to Sydney last week with Cathay Pacific. Great airline tho those new shell seats are uncomfortable for sleeping so make sure you make it a day flight or get business class
tell that to the people on board the 747 that had 3 TOP pilots get the crippled QANTAS plane down into Singapore last year (?), a movie would be made of it if it was an American IFE, almost everything was knocked out and only the skill of those pilts got it down in several pices
+ infinity Never, ever underestimate the value of top notch aircrew at the front end of a passenger jet. Those guys more than earn their money in more ways than one.
*sigh* I forgot I held to spell things out to you guys. I thought you'd have picked up the joke when I mentioned the vending machine, VB and potato chips. Nevermind. I've been on a plane where we had to do an emergency landing in Oman, Jordan, when the Boeing 777 we were on blew an engine on route to Austria so fully understand the benefits of having a pilot.
Are you secretly Justin Timberlake?? (Watch the movie Friends With Benefits, its almost word for word...)
