Bernie's days are numbered (who's aren't?) and so I thought it'd be only fitting to put together a FerrariChat Top Ten list of what we think he should try to achieve before he starts charging for Paddock Access Passes to the Pearly Gates (we know he'll sweet talk St. Peter into that deal, don't we?).

So to make a start, here are my top 3 wishes. Ultimately we can count all nominations and combine them into a top ten:

    1) GP of the United States (don't care whether it is Austin, NY or Indy, just make it happen)
    2) GP of Africa (ideally in South Africa, but again, don't really care as long as this continent gets one)
    3) Sprinklers (sorry, had to throw that in for laughs and giggles)

    Discuss!

    A) Only three rules pertaining to engines
    A.1) displacement
    A.2) fuel (gasoline)
    A.3) longevity
Everything else is up to the engine manufacture.

Hate to be a party pooper but Bernie has nothing to do with the technical regulations!

    True but:

    - I started the trend with my 3rd pick and
    - I'm pretty sure Bernie has a heavy influence on the FIA/show including the rules, technically it is Todt but let's be realistic here...

Believe Me, Jean Todt (unlike Max Mosley), is most definitely not one of Bernie's puppets and wouldn't let him have a say in the technical regulations!.

Those two are like cats and dogs!.

    1. Only engine rule is cc size (and boost for turbo engines). No making them into endurance engines and having to send drawings to the FIA to approve BS.
    2. Engine has to be connected to the driver via a throttle cable, no fly by wire. This will return the cars to requiring skill to drive and will also reduce the hp produced as yet again driveable engines will be priority.
    3. No wires between engine/gearbox/diff assembly other than single wire for on/off, and single wire to engage starter. This means we will not have the ability to constantly alter diff settings as the car is lapping.
    4. All funds obtained by the team have to directly be spent on the race team and cars, ie. no wasting money having sponsor parties, etc. ... I'd rather we banned sponsorship but its complex.
    5. No pitstops at all. Lets have racing on the track please and as we have seen with these Pirelli tyres they can be designed to go long distances with out degrading if we want them to. This also means the F1 teams can down size as we do not need a cast of thousands at each meeting.
    6. No radio communication whatsoever to the driver and visa versa from the pits.

    Pete

As long as he makes them rich he gets to call the tune.

    a great start.
A fuel flow formula would allow freedom of design and be as "green" as they'd like to appear.

Overall Pete, I like the ideas, exc one, either all turbo cars or none. I have never liked having the officials ciphering out an equitable rules structure.

I like the idea of a driver trying to read a pit board at 220mph
