I made them. All the parts came from good old Home Depot.

Omgjon, when you have time, could you post photos to show how they're hung? Do they glide on rails, too? What are they made of, and how did you finish the edges? I don't mean to hijack this great thread, but those doors look great.

Great job, great car and a really nice colour combo!

First i thought that black/tan is rare and really perfect on a Dino but
    the actual result is stunning!

    Greetings Christian

Jon, no foam between the Dynamat and roof liner?

I did not put foam on my car, just dynamat. On Tom's car it is a foil backed foam, but no dynamat.

Thank you for that Freeman. FYI, I have had XWX's on order since June 14th. I was just notified a few days from from Coker that they recieved another delay from Michelin :(. 'Expected' now mid-November ..... we'll see?

Certainly agree. But it is not always as easy as just to follow our hearts. Hearts are different. For some of us, our hearts also say: Stay original. So it becomes a matter of following our hearts or following our hearts - in a different direction. Not as clearcut.
In the case of this car, I can understand why Tom could not get very excited about the original color, which I believe was Marrone Met. (Although, came to think about it, with beige or sand colored leather interior, I bet it could have looked elegant...) But, given the decision to go with another color and Euro look nose, this was certainly exceptionally successful. And what a color combination!
Yes, this car will be an example and an inspiration for many of us.

Jon, Steve, Charlie, incredibly efficient and professional job! Impossible for us amateurs to grasp - it would take us months - but nice to see how it can be done by real pros.

Tom, I already knew that Grigio Ferro would look fantastic, but the end result still surpasses all expectations. Just gorgeous! Also, the closer bumper mounts really make a difference, particularly in the front. It avoids the slight (very slight) "underbite" look of the stock US bumpers. Did you have to cut the support tubes, or how was it done? Is the modification reversible without welding?

Does anyone think I will I get any originality credit for choosing a color (Grigio Ferro) that is right next to the cars original color (Marrone Met.) on the Dino/Ferrari Color sample book?
Does it make it any less 'not original'? :)

Lars l think the support tubes were trimmed but I need to confirm .... and I agree Marrone can look great.

Yes, I imagine it involves cutting the supports. I was just curious, it would have been fun to experiment, otherwise. The front end looks so much better that way.

And I am sure you get credit for picking "next-of-kin" color. :)
You get lots of credit for this car. From everyone on this forum.

OK, The carpet and trim pieces are in. Ralph finished recovering the dash in the material from Henk (HVL Exclusive Italians Interiors). This material is so much better than anything I have seen. It doesn't have the jet black/blue color that looks fake. Henks is slightly more grey and looks and feels great. Jon, with the help of Charlie got it in the car perfectly, I can't thank them enough.
Ralph from Autos Int. completed the seats last week and I was able to bolt them in today. They turned out great also. Pics are hard to capture the bordeaux/brick color, but is a nice compliment to the Grigio Ferro.

Still waiting on a new side vent window glass and the inner window scraper .... ugh!!!! .... so the doors can be finished up. Also waiting on Tires so I can get the wheels can be sprayed. Other than that just a few minor items....

Following are not so great shots from my garage, better ones to follow once I can get her outside. She is home again next to to her italian cousins.

    Hi Tom,
What were the convex discs you used for the color samples?

    Mark,

Do you mean these discs shown below? They are stamped aluminum shapes that we use in our industry for evaluating new exterior automotive paint colors. A flat panel doesn't show how the paint will look over a curved surface and believe me there are no flat surfaces on any car, just some more round than others.

    All the best,

Dan, here is a teaser of the Alfa.... '59 Giulietta Spider Veloce. They seem to get along fine together in the garage. Actually a few shared parts believe it or not!
