Wayne, was this car in Sydney in the early 80's?? If so, I spent much time admiring it (or a very similar green one.)!! John
thanks Jim...i'm so happy that we were able deliver a car that's reliable, that you're still happy with and that you're enjoying with the family as you planned. it's a trend...our customers love to 'torment' us by launching into serious road trips upon delivery...Toronto-Des Moine, Toronto-Madison, Toronto-NJ, Toronto-MTL etc.,etc. they fly in and then drive home...very nerve wrecking for us but, so far, so good ...no tow trucks required yet. thanks Sam...i'll call Wayne. what a great shot...reminds me of the Forza article a few years back in which the owner of a very similar coloured GTC/4 tracked his car...at Lime Rock, IIRC. nice car !
Back in the latter part of the 1970s there was a C4 in the Los Angeles area that attended a FOC track event at Riverside. The owner may have been a jeweler; vaguely remember that tidbit. Anyway, amongst all the Daytonas and such running around on the track this guy had his C4 with a Comp Daytona type open exhaust exiting under the doors and slicks. Sorry, can't remember the car's color. Jeff
That's a reference to the paint MANUFACTURER......it's a tradename of Dupont. Good paint actually, I used in on a Cadillac Eldorado.
NOt sure who made the ones i installed for clients, but i had to cut out the space for the radio a couple of the emblems where slightly off, but other wise great fit, and great quality. I can find out where my clients got them if anyone needs help send me a PM
John, Car was originally in Sydney, featured in 72 auto mags. Only Pine Green one imported I understand (mine repainted original colour in Melbourne early 80's) - silver one in Adelaide was repainted green a few years ago. NNO, I have owned the car since 83 (I think!!) Michael, Original leather, still perfect and smells wonderful. Dash recovered in leather, rear parcel shelf in leather when I bought it but shrunk so now back to original plastic.
I have seen one that I think was grey with red interior converted by Claudio Zampolli who later on made his own mid-engined car in Italy. That one preserved the beautiful rear window and B-pillars, not subtracting from the general lines of the car. Of the black spyders I have seen, I have to say while I would like to drive one where I could more fully hear the 4-cams revolving (along with the unwanted rattling of the too flexible chain) I sometimes feel they resemble Firebird convertibles of mid-'80s vintage. It could be once you cut away the roof of the C4, you emasculate it; create a gelding out of stallion.
Hi Wayne My C4 is at Cavallino Motorsport in Sydney getting an engine rebuild at the moment. They have another C4 in there currently, same colour combo as yours with Borranis, looks great By the way, if you are unaware, the V12 McKay Rally next year is in Tassie Greg
i figured it must have been, thanks for confirming...very, very cool car. what are your thoughts on how it compares to your BBi...performance, sound, comfort ? thanks
Right: As promised here are a couple of shots of this oro kelso /senape (mustard ie tan) C4 I saw Monday the 15th of this month. It was like a dream, a Chateau in remote western France with several Modenese cars, I was there to see a Khamsin for my Registry and then he showed me his other cars as well, most had not been used in years. he used to really drive them hard, he was banned from driving in Switzerland because they caught him at over 200kph He also had a Daytona, a Ghibli, Indy 4.9, Mistral spyder 4l and Miura. I drove 1200kms that day and got home at 3am so no time to unwrap the other cars but will get the C4 chassis number eventually and post here. I love this color which again was the same as my Khamsin and a particularly nice C4 I drove in Florida several times which had Borranis, I gather that one is now in Australia after being sold to Chicago. The cars are NOT for sale, he is now going to start using them again and has his act together. best regards, Marc
Beautifull color. I like also the green in post #3. A friend has one. A beautifull car, very fast, and what a sound! Unfortunatelly he painted it red, and red is not the right color for a GTC/4. Marc, do you took photos of the Miura? If so, you could post a couple in the "Miura, the original supercar" tread. Maybe... Thanks.
Marc, Oro Kelso and Oro Chiaro look very similar, although it appears that the 'Kelso" has more of a tan color than gold color. Beautiful car and color. Thanks for posting. Steve

The ol' gray mare (15215) has been a stabled pony in central Maryland for way too long. I removed the six carbs to do a full cleaning a few years back, then family and life events took over. My current intent is to finish the carbs this winter, and give the top end a complete going over this spring. Hopefully, she'll see direct sunlight this summer. Wish me luck. http://365gtc4.com/Gallery/album.aspx?albumid=808&albumName=15215 Les Putnam
Oro Kelso was a very popular color for the 365 GTC/4. No fewer than 23 units were originally painted this color (out of a total of 500 cars built). Marcel Massini
s/n 15823 At Artcurial auction in Paris this weekend: http://www.artcurial.com/en/asp/fullCatalogue.asp?salelot=2085+++++107+&refno=10367990
Steve: Not yet but I plan to contact the owner for other things in the next week so will ask him. Marcel: 23 oro kelso amazing, happy to learn that as I love the color and it suits C4's very well. Congrats on the Basel display, have to go see that! Giotto/Francis: I don't discuss Miuras in forums as I will not be drawn into politics but is 3913 so NOT in Japan as stated elsewhere. Try Googling it now. One question to C4 connoisseurs: how many had the Scottish plaid/tartan Burberry look, whatever it is called? One had it on the cover of Symbol magazine long ago a red car parked in a beautiful Italian garden. Many thanks in advance for any clues! best regards, Marc
